Works great out of the box!

Quite long loading times

Crashed when opening the Steam Overlay, so i disabled it
cpu rdp limit was on
stutters
just went in a campaign and played the first battle. it was playable, not that horrible. i dont know what happens with bigger armys. controls would need to be optimized
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Runs horribly. Still tinkering with graphics options but even the Medium preset stutters constantly.
GE Proton versions don't even launch, and Native is even worse for stuttering.
no further modification but you're stuck in 60 FPS on proton 7.0.2, native has higher fps but has significant stutter in campaign
Im stuck in 60Hz refresh rate on Proton 7.0.2, fps drops from 60 to 40
Use proton for almost no stutter in campaign avoid the native one
It is playable, but would you enjoy it if you'd had a top-tier GPU and it feels like 20-30 fps?
I've played this game before on NVIDIA hardware, and that GPU performed about 10% worse with Proton compared to native, while native introduced some choppiness, especially on the map. Now, with the AMD card, the native version is very choppy and performs significantly worse. On Ultra settings, I get 70 fps native and 100 fps on Proton. That's 30% less! And because of the choppiness, 70 fps feels more like 20-30 fps... On the other hand, the Proton version seems to suffer from random crashes so that's also far from ideal. To summarize: either is bad! I wish they'd update the native version to perform optimally with the newest AMD hardware.
I didn't even need to use Proton I played the Linux native version and it performed better than WIndows given my hardware.
Proton recommended to play this game as the Feral native version is unfortunately not as up to date and doesn't seem to run as well.
I've marked "slight" performance problems as there is a noticeable difference between running it in Windows and through Proton on my Linux Mint system. Nothing too major, still 60FPS, etc, but just not as good as on Windows for sure.
Runs absolutely flawless with Proton. Compared to the regularly crashing Native version it's a much better experience with Proton.
Proton performance is also comparable to native

With the frequent gpu crashes (AMDGPU), you might have a much better chance with their linux client.
- Ok previously I made a report that it was minor for just text in the game. The text still seems italicized for the turn cards at the top
- The text in the multiplayer lobby also looks scratchy and italic like as the above p[oint.
- After 10 mins of gameplay, the game will crash the GPU (i.e screen goes black and then comes back up) but there will be artifacts everywhere all over the screen
After 10 minutes of just having the game running, either in the menu or actually playing , my screen will go black and it will then come back up but with pixel artifacts everywhere. OS becomes unresponsive, forcing a hard reboot.

Ran just like normal, MP included and was able to play with windows players.
- When it shows whose turn it is, the font is almost italic like.
- Lobby names also have the same font issue as above.
I tried multiple proton versions but no matter the version I used I could not see the mouse cursor. Unplayable
I could not see the mouse at all, only the results of it highlighting menus and clicking things /guessing
Running perfect with proton~
Amazing how protons could make Total war games running smooth on Linux, yea overall the game running with better fps than native, with included mod support which is already tested by me (Played about 20 mod of steam workshop), and no crash.

Cannot progress on this game due to consistent crash
Always crashing whenever I send my troops to attack. Attacking is a key part of the game, which makes me impossible to progress due to this bug
Consistently crashes everytime I send troops to attack

As long as you enable ACO you will have a excellent experience. I even gained a few FPS compared to W10.
Set launch options to: RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command%

Have had a MUCH better experience using the Windows version of this game in Proton vs using than the native version. This has been due in large part to serious bugs that are fixed in the more current windows version. I recommend playing this game in Proton and to avoid the outdated and buggy native linux version for this game.

Tells me that my distro is inferior and out of date. Bollix Presents me with a continue with inferior distro.. Mint is a major Linux distro.. Beware of this game in early stage.. for inferior Linux distro ;) Kiss my ...
