Works great
The one minor thing is the launcher did not open the first time I launched the game, but it has worked fine since then
Had some lag, but it was on the server as the person I was playing with also had the lag, and they are on windows.
Used to work fine but they broke the EAC support
Kicks immediately because of Easy Anti Cheat
Works well out of the box
I had issues with the Vulkan version in eary access, but now it works fine, the dx11 version might work well if vulkan does not.
Runs fine without any tinkering, however adding the launch options let me use DLSS which doubled my fps
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12
EA App is garbage as always, can't seem to launch the game no matter proton version or launch options
Tried a few of the other fixes from people in previous posts, but the EA App never was able to launch the game
Could not get controller support to work at all, and the game is really meant to be played with a controller.
If you really don't mind Kb&M go ahead its a fantastic game.
Big Maybe, If you have a high end CPU go for it, otherwise its an fps nightmare
Can barely get above 40 fps in the middle of no where, and 20 fps in towns
Contrary to most games, this game has a huge CPU bottleneck, probably from Denuvo, and definintely because of poor optimization. If you have a more recent / good CPU go for it as you'll probably get better performance.
It probably is a fine experience, I just am too suspicious about the GPU usage to continue playing it personally
Tried all different kind of Proton Version, and launch options but to no avail
GPU usage always at 100% regardless of any settings in game, resolution, or frame cap
Should probably work fine for others, might just be a specific issue with my setup, but just stresses me out to have it be using 100% of my GPU regardless of what is happening in the game or any settings used.
Works great other than one minor issue
It will not be able to get past the initial gearbox video, you just have to press escape though and it skips to the main menu and you can play it just fine after that
Overall works fantastic just some minor crashes, and one spot that kept crashing and required extra setup to get past
Alt-Tab works but crashes the game when in Fullscreen
The one issue I ran into was it crashing at the same spot in one mission ending cutscene, however I was able to get past it by switching to Proton version 4.11-13 and adding "-force-d3d9" to the launch options, then after that was able to switch back to defaults and resume playing just fine.
The only issue I had was that if the game was in Fullscreen it would lock my mouse from clicking on anything, in or outside the game, changing that to borderless fixed it, and now it works flawlessly.
The 2K launcher doesn't work after the first launch. You can fix this by deleting the "T2GP Launcher" folder in both Roaming and Local under "SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/368260/drive_c/steamuser/AppData/" It appears to be required before each session.
Works wonderul on both Experimental and GE
Won't launch past a black screen
Also tried Proton 8 and Proton GE
Also tried to force install Visual C++ Redist through protontricks as some windows users were having that issue, still no luck.
PS4 controller not natively supported, but Steam Input works just fine
After trying lots of different things between different versions of Proton, to x11 vs wayland, and a few other things, switching to an older version of Proton (7) somehow has it working.
Gets to the screen saying it doesn't have a valid configuration.
I tried many of the fixes listed, it has worked for me in the past but doesn't anymore. Sounds pretty comon for patches to break the game or fix it with no certainty.
This patch it launches fine now, but you just get kicked out imediately on entering a game.
Kicked out of matches after 5-10 seconds.
Get disconnected after the loading screen everytime, unplayable.
Works well just out of the box
It was strange for me to see my graphics card maxing out and going to 30 fps during certain battles, but I think that can be blamed on early access.
Native version is much better for performance than the Proton version
While it runs significantly better on Native, it does have the issue of depending on your mods it might just crash outright. But its actually playable, if your hardware is fantastic go with Proton if you can get worthly FPS, but its night and day for me, ~20 fps for Proton and flat 60 on Native. Feral doing good work!
The game worked fine a few days ago, looks like an update borked it. It gets stuck either on the launcher, or building shader cache.
Reinstalling, deleting prefix, verifying files, different versions of Proton, Proton GE, none of these steps fixed it for me.
