Glorious Eggroll's Proton builds
Multiplayer is borked. Trying to connect to a public game endlessly loads, trying to host a public game results in a black screen.
Almost flawless
The only thing missing from this game is an official controller layout. If you've played this on PC in the past, playing on Deck will take some getting used to.
The only issue is that when you tab out of the game the FPS tanks when you tab back in, but it recovers 99% of the time.
It just works
The default control scheme Steam picks for this game works flawlessly. It's a point and click type game and the touchpads work well for this.
It works with some trouble
Ubisoft Connect seemed to have trouble pulling down saves at first, but the issue resolved itself after launching in desktop mode. After that I've experienced zero issues regarding saves.
Aside from the initial save sync issue, this game is pretty flawless. I did disable the overlay in Ubisoft Connect as per the other report.
Valve should do some additional vetting, but the game is playable.
All menu text appears very pixelated and ranges from barely readable to unreadable. All in-game text such as subtitles renders just fine.
The game appears to ignore the option to launch in DirectX 12 mode, it will launch in DirectX 11 mode no matter what. Strangly enough the benchmark will respect the setting and run in DirectX 12 mode if selected.
It's perfectly playable if you tweak the controller layout.
I bound the buttons to the default keyboard bindings in the game. I shared this as a community layout named "Steam Deck Layout." The game is borderline unplayable with the default layout.
It seems Steam could add some improvement here by allowing the Steam Deck controler to spoof an Xbox (xinput) or PS controller. I got the game to work by creating a custom controller layout bound to keyboard controls as the game seemed to ignore the controller otherwise.
Black screen is the best you get, even in desktop mode.
Totally borked
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%
Always crashes on startup no matter what I do. Strangly, it does work on my Steam Deck
It works OOB.
It's best to run this game at 1080p or lower. Being an older game it simply was not designed for higher resolutions and UI elements are tiny with higher resolutions.
FPS seems a little low for what it should be on my hardware.
Perfectly playable
The game pops up a warning saying there's not enough vram, but plays flawlessly.
The game runs pretty much flawlessly.
Fullscreen is a no go.
The only issue is Japanese fonts will not display correctly in the configuration menu nor in the title (in the game everything displays perfectly), but the Thcrap patch fixes that issue.
