Launches for a fraction of a second and then closes
No matter what proton version I tried, with or without gamescope, it flashes a black window for a fraction of a second and then closes.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
Plays great. I think I felt less input lag with "DXVK_ASYNC=1" in the launch options, although there already wasn't any discernible input lag. Gamescope isn't 100% necessary, but if I switched the window focus outside of the game, the window would disappear. I run Hyprland (a Wayland tiling compositor), so it might be an issue with that, specifically. Issues like this are why I tend to run gamescope with all games by default.
gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
If you use multiple monitors, gamescope is a necessity, or else it will open streched across all available monitors rather than fullscreen on your main monitor. Besides that, with gamescope configured correctly, it plays great. The DirectX version works with Proton, but the native version plays well for me, so I have no need to use Proton. I play with an Xbox controller. Gamemode is probably unnecessary, but I run it with all games regardless.
gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
Great performance, easily over 120fps at max settings (vsync off) at 1440p in most areas. Plays well with an Xbox controller.
gamemoderun %command%
While I usually use gamescope with most games, the game/benchmark would not launch if gamescope was used. Gamemode is also not necessary, but I figure it doesn't hurt to use it anyways. All forms of input, mouse and keyboard or Xbox controller work as expected. Performance is on par with Windows.
gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
Using the latest GE proton, gamemode, and gamescope. I loaded into several story mode levels and it seems to play well. I got ~55 fps average on the in-game benchmark with max settings and 4x MSAA. I have no intention of logging in to play contracts (if it's even still available), but story mode plays as expected, with either a mouse and keyboard or Xbox controller. I'm sure I'd be able to play through the entire game without issues.

I run Hyprland (a Wayland tiling compositor) and I typically use gamescope to improve windowing stability and predictability, but this is one of the few games where using gamescope doesn't improve windowing. When launching with gamescope, it will launch, but the window will be invisible (with working audio). Without gamescope, it works perfectly, launches as fullscreen, and plays as expected, with either mouse and keyboard, or Xbox controller. I run gamemode as default with all games, but it's not necessary at all with this one.
gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
I use the latest GE Proton, gamemode, and gamescope with almost all games, it runs great with this configuration.
Refuses to launch
gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
I am running Hyprland (wayland tiling compositor) on Arch Linux. No matter what proton or DX version I tried, it refuses to open. If not using gamescope, it will start and immediately stop. If I try to use gamescope, nothing will open and I need to manually kill gamescope-wl to get it to stop.
