Graphics will freeze for a couple of seconds now and again, while the game and audio continues. This is particularly annoying during fights, since you can take damage but are unable to see what's going on.

There are a number of guides available to get this game running. Tried a few of them and didn't get anywhere until I tried the GamePretty one.
I was able to launch the vanilla game, install Content Manager, custom shaders, and all of that. The game works smoothly, at around 150 FPS in vanilla and 90 with custom shaders, with the visual options mostly turned up to high. Xbox 360 controller was recognised instantly, with proper mappings, and working force feedback.
The tinkering required is a bit tedious, but once it's done you can just launch the game and play like normal.
Just install and play. As painless as it gets.
No tricks, not tinkering. It works beautifully.
Minor hiccups, mostly a smooth experience
The image freezes somewhat frequently (once, maybe twice per race) while the game keeps running. Alt-tabbing or toggling Steam overlay fixes the issue.
The occasional freezing of the image (not the game) is somewhat annoying and can screw you over if it happens during a particularly tricky manoeuvre, but it's perfectly playable and enjoyable. The image freezing doesn't seem to be related to any specific track, weather conditions, or time of the day. It seems to happen randomly.
Works perfectly out of the box, without any tinkering
No issues found at all with the vanilla+DLC game, which ran about as well as you'd expect a Bethesda game to run. I was also able to set up ModOrganizer for it and add ReShade without any complications.
It's glitchier than under Windows, but it's playable if you can forgive the minor issues.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Some LOD issues on buildings, a couple of meshes popping into existence. Nothing game-breaking, but it's noticeable.
Performance varies wildly using medium-high settings, from 75 FPS to around 25, depending on the scenary, lighting, etc.
At times the game won't get to the main menu, sitting instead at one of the legal warning screens. Only happens on first launch from what I've seen. Killing the game and restarting it solves that. It's an annoyance, but a minor one, all things considered.
In my case, the commonly recommended launch flags didn't do any good, and the game actually runs better without them. Wine D3D completely tanked performance (inside the first safehouse it went from 75 FPS without the flag, to around 7-10 with it). ESYNC had no noticeable impact one way or another.
Perfectly playable out-of-the-box with the latest Proton. Expect minor hiccups and FPS dips on higher settings.
Only an instance or two of the audio falling out of sync during cutscenes.
Some frame drops, minor stuttering, and an audio sync issue during a cutscene, but nothing game-breaking. The game runs just fine on max settings in Windows, but lowering some graphical settings is required on Linux to compensate for the overhead of running through Proton.
The game works as expected with an Xbox 360 gamepad (via USB), if that's your thing.
Works great 99% of the time, just remember to save frequently
Infrequent crashes after playing cinematics in campaign mode.
Used PLAZA No-DVD .exe instead of the original.
After installing, you'll notice that the game crashes as soon as you click "Play" on the launcher. I'm assuming it's some form of DRM that's causing that, because after replacing the original SniperEliteV2.exe
with the No-DVD 1.13 executable from PLAZA it all worked great with the latest Proton, no launcher arguments of any sort required.
