It just works

I was able to download the game and launch it without any problems. In almost 4 hours of play I did not encounter any graphical bugs or other visual problems, the fps losses are almost non-existent. The system temperature does not exceed 80°C even during intense gaming moments, and controllers are supported. I play with the steam deck connected to a TV screen in 1920x1080 resolution, limited to 30fps, antialiasing and graphic texture settings at maximum, the rest on medium (display distance, shadows, effect, etc...) in Summary with this configuration the game works perfectly.

The game works without tinkering if you are NOT using experimental fractional scaling on Linux Mint (it breaks the game entirely). I have tried launching without steam launch commands and it works fine too. Just make sure you are using 100% or 200% UI Scaling on Mint.

Black Screen
-dx11 does not work -d311 does not work Custom Proton GE does not work Proton Experimental does not work Proton 8 does not work
Game gets stuck on black screen when lauching. Tried tinkering with steam launch options and different versions of proton, but nothing works.

The game runs perfect on Proton experimental, i did not have any problem or crashes, really smooth gameplay

Only played single player, but worked perfectly with default settings using Heroic to play an Epic Game Store copy.

Reload - L4 Dodge - R4
Game works well with gyro
Just install and play. It works that way.
For reference I locked it at 40 fps at the settings the game recommends, which I think is medium.
Then I've just enabled gyro and backgrip buttons.
I haven't tried online.

Works ootb without issues. but, get half of fps as in windows
HALF of fps on windows
all i did was use proton experimental and no further tinkering. got the game running perfectly with no bugs nor crashes. but on 1080p maxed out my rig could only give 20-35 fps, as in windows im comfortably gaming 60 fps ++
Works great out of the box. Used the latest GE proton at the time, would likely work with standard proton.

Perfect working, run OOTB
-d3d11
Runs as native: click install, start the game, go blasting the root.

ran with default settings at stable 30 fps, i have changed some from medium to low to achieve stable 40 fps.. game still looked solid and i
frame limit and refresh rate set to 40

Performance is far better than on Windows, especially in GPU bound areas like the Swamp.

Works perfectly out of the box
Played the whole game with Windows friends. The intro cutscene of the Subject 2923 dlc worked with default Proton, no need for Proton-GE.

The game played fine with Steam Proton but there were occasional stutters. Switching to GE-Proton eliminated the problem. Rock solid 60fps.

Keyboard and mouse works great. Controller works great. Solid framerate with graphics maxed. No crashes. Excellent experience.

I have played multiplayer for 4 hours the last two days without any problem.

Couldn't get the game to launch. Installed multiple times, Proton Experimental, GE 8.4, nothing worked
Based on how much success people used to have with this game, I'd pay attention to this, maybe it'll improve again, but the game flatly wouldn't launch for me, no errors in logs.
Game crashes after fewer than 20 minutes

Everything works perfectly except for the DLC intro cutscene (Subject 2923), view it on YouTube or perhaps try GE Proton.
Works Fine
High fps on high settings excellent experience.
It's like a Dark Souls, but FPS.
It's like a Dark Souls, but FPS. It has its degree of difficulty that is quite enjoyable (if you like Souls-like games), the graphics are quite good and detailed. Maybe it has its flaws when talking to NPCs, especially in cut scenes.
But the truth is that it is a game that is worth playing.
I run it on Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon and it runs very smoothly and so far without any glitches.

Tried both with Bottles and some extra settings and the standard Steam Version with Proton. Both worked flawlessly.

Except the random frame drops the game works well - with decent settings it runs 1920x1080.
Huge framerate drops, random, making the game unplayable. Sometimes disappear when changinh location, always after game restart. Fortunately does not appear too often.
Steam Proton works too, switching to GE seems to make frame drops less frequent but it's hard to be sure thans to nhe random nature of the issue. Except the gframe drops is the game perfectly playable.

Main Menu has no background, just UI. Non issue
Mutiplayer works great, no issue joining games. But sometimes in other people's games I'll get framerate drops to like 1-2fps and then they go away after a bit. Not sure whats doing it, but after leaving and rejoining it's fine.

Overall great experience with a few random hiccups
Proton Experimental introduced random sound glitches, so I'm sticking with 7.0-3. Runs very well out of the box. Almost identical performance compared to the Windows version.
