im sure any gamer could enjoy bf4 on linux. i got almost 144+ fps experience all the time.
game is install and run just like on windows just a bit worse frametime on linux, game runs well just few dips here and there
FairFight
Good game runs well enough
At times textures missing and random artifacts
Random framedrops here and there but pretty sure this happens on Windows as well
Game randomly crashes couple of times but not a big deal.
Only problem was my skill
I played game from start to finish and i can recommend this game on Linux but be aware.. Certain stages framedrops were pain i recommend to switch between native and proton find which one has least problems with fps.
I had to restart steam after installing the game game window would not appear on my monitor other than that pretty much click and play experience
on linux mint cinnamon playable but a bit lower average fps compared to windows
A way lower frametime compared to Windows on a dust2 dm but still above 144fps on 1080p most of the time.
Workshop maps did not load in for some reason.
Fps would drop below my monitors 144hz sometimes. I would try to avoid newer maps like ancient if you have higher hz monitor.
I can see it being enjoyable once you tweak graphical settings.
Some framedips in a DM server but tweaking game settings made it to work.
VAC
1080p seemed a bit meh experience fps wise but i play on stretched 4:3 resolutions anyway so might work better for someone with better cpu.
-novid -nojoy -fullscreen -vulkan
had to force fullscreen with -fullscreen launch option command
I could not get rid off black screen on fedora36 without adding -vulkan in launch the options performance is not rly playable too many frame drops too often
no other problems besides blackscreen and fps drops on vulkan api
Better experience on other distros for now.
download and play experience
Absolutely flawless experience on 5700g's apu. 4:3 1280x960 res all low besides Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode 8x and textures high ). Over monitors 144hz all the time on a community dm server.
If you use Linux and take CS:GO a bit more seriously i do recommend using Ubuntu for flawless experience.
-novid -console -high -128tick -nojoy -refresh 144
Played Dust2 deathmatch with an amazing experience. Better frametime than on Windows
-novid -high -sdlaudiodriver pipewire
launch command -sdlaudiodriver pipewire fixed the issue
good experience just like on windows
-sdlaudiodriver pipewire or -sdlaudiodriver pulseaudio to launch options if you dont have audio other than that high hz experience throughout whole match
Game would crash to desktop every half an hour or less
It works just a shame it crashes often, i'm not sure if it's games fault but need to do another post with mods.
Heavy stuttering whie game is loading shaders
Random d3d errors crashing the game which are most likely caused by the newer 5xx.xx nvidia drivers, got same errors in windows without vulkan mod.
I get a little bit better experience on Fedora 36 than i do on windows(less frequent crashes) game has big stutters whenever new area is being loaded but i do not mind it too much if the game crashes less compared to windows. Overall i do recommend GoW runs fine, it might even run better on your hardware without crashes.
Runs well
No complains like i had with Nvidia gpu no crashes or bad frame time. pretty much download and play experience after you wait shaders to process.
literally just download and play like you do on windows
Whenever i open the gun shop my fps dips to 1-5 till game crashes
In short, game runs well on my system but accessing the gun shop menu crashes the game. Not quite sure how to fix it yet.
High fps on high settings excellent experience.
