gamescope -f -- %command%
Impossible to enter fullscreen and keep mouse within window without gamescope
I used the Fix mod to get modern widescreen resolutions
Works Great

Had to disable steam overlay for the game to launch.

Game works perfectly out of the box. Zero modifications were really necessary, I do recommend the SWRC Remaster Mod though
"/home/user/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Star Wars Republic Commando/GameData/System/launch_ct.sh" %command%
The above launch parameter was for playing the SWRC Remaster Mod only, game runs out of the box perfectly.
This game has a unique windowing issue, as another user noted, on Windows its fullscreen only, but on Proton it is forced window mode. I don't know of anyway to change this.
i wanted to run the remaster mod since it has a ton of QoL improvements, better visuals, lots of map and bug fixes, modern resolution support, etc. However, it has a seperate .exe that you must run from the game files, which is fine. I require to play with a controller, and rely on steam menu for gamepad support. So i had to get really creative to make steam use the actual SWRC game (rather than adding the new exe as a nonsteam game, this broke controller support) but instead choose the new exe as the launch parameter. I wrote a script that simply launches the new exe via proton, and I added this as a launch parameter within steam. The launch parameter is above, I'll paste my script here. None of this is necessary for base game, but if you want the upgrades this was the only way I could get it to work.
#!/bin/bash cd "/home/user/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Star Wars Republic Commando/GameData/System" ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ -\ Experimental/proton run CT.exe

Lowered mouse senstivty to lowest for better controls, mouse smoothing on.
If it's sitting the the library or cheap to buy, give it a go on the SD!

DXVK_FRAME_RATE=120 %command%
Color banding, mostly noticeable on low light areas, but not a big problem. The build of wine/proton you use might fix this
This game relies on a weird windowing technique. On Windows, you can only play it in fullscreen. On Linux, you are stuck at windowed mode. Maybe there's a mod out there that can fix this but I only tried vanilla
Input lag even without vsync and compositor
There's a few mods to add widescreen and high resolution support, as well as some other fixes
If you have problems with mouse sensitivity, limit the framerate from the launch options as described in my report

Tela cheia não funciona com o proton experimental. Mudar para um proton mais antigo.

It's an old XP game so yes it runs nicely.
If I had to complain about anything, it would be the mouse sensitity and the lack of easy controller support. But that's also true with the original disc release (which I also installed via Lutris and it too ran nicely).
Defenite playable game

Did this: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Republic_Commando#Anisotropic_filtering_.28AF.29
Sometimes the game would launch in a window with a strange resolution. Seemed to happen at random
100% the game
Played with the following mods:
The game itself runs perfectly, but ''Extra Content" videos didn't work.
The game itself runs perfectly fine if you just wanna run it out the box in it's original settings, but I downloaded https://github.com/SWRC-Modding/CT/releases copied all the files to \Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System excluding CT.exe, we will replace the LaunchRC.exe with CT.exe, this will just give us a few more options ingame. Extra content did not work in the newest Proton, albeit you could probably get them working with GE if needed.
Works perfectly without any extra option. Only thing i wanna say is : Sensivity is very high in main menu but in game it's normal.

Runs out-of-the-box. The only minor issue is the "Extra content" videos that play in slow motion
Mouse is extremely fast on the main menu, but normal in game (it might be a game issue, not Proton's)
The game itself does not support 1080p or higher resolutions. There is a mod that enables higher resolutions. Just download the latest zip file from https://github.com/Leon280698/CT/releases. Extract all the content to the GameData/System directory on the installation folder. Finally, remove or backup the LaunchRC.exe file and create a link (symlink) with the same name (LaunchRC.exe) to the GameData/System/CT.exe.
Runs Perfect
I have not had any issues with this game at all!

Would be better with touchpad support, but just turn down mouse sensitivity to 2 and it works well OOTB
Works OOTB
Works good but better with Proton 5.13-6
By unknown reason textures are forced to 16 bit not 32 bit so look not good. Usage WineD3D, DXVK flags are not helped.
For good look use Proton 5.13-6 but it not change brightness.
In main menu mouse pointer very quick but in game is normal.
Played with Proton 6.3-8/5.13-6.
Great game, needs patch for multiplayer, had minor issues. Overall great experience.
Main menu background is usually missing, minor issue
I run Proton Experimental.
Runs perfectly. Existing issues are not proton's fault, except for color degradation in dark areas
Weird "low dynamic range" color degradation in low light areas

Runs great out of the box
Mouse sensitivity was absolutely insane, due to the game's default resolution. Updating the mouse sensitivity in the settings did not fix this. I had to change the resolution to be higher (which I was going to do anyways) for it to be more reasonable. I'm not sure if native Windows faces the same issue.
The game is quite loud. Even at the lowest volume settings, I had to lower it externally to the game. No idea if this is also a problem with native Windows.
Using Proton 6.12-GE-1 or 5.13-6 results in a near perfect experience
I played about an hour each using proton versions 6.12-GE-1 and 5.13-6 with no graphical issues on either. I can't comment on 6.3-5.
It should be noted that because the game is about 16 years old, there's no widescreen support. This is an issue with the game rather than proton. Just something to be aware of.
You can also install the widescreen patch as described here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Republic_Commando#Republic_Commando_Fix You just need to run the CT.exe once using Wine or Proton apply your visual settings and re-run the game as you would normally do.
Also Proton 6.3-5 has some visual issues with to bright textures. I recommend staying with 5.13 for the best experience
Both Proton Experimental and Proton 6.3 appear to cause graphical issues with lighting/shadows, resulting in some textures taking on a mottled black appearance. Downgrading to Proton 5.13 resolves these problems.
Flawless on Proton. It's an old game, but it deserves it's current platinum rating.
The mouse input was extremely sensitive. Turn down the sensitivity in your system's settings, and the game works as normal.

I had to disable the steam overlay and then restart steam and then was able to launch my game.
The mouse controls were not responisve as they are supose to be.
It runs well, there are some issues present such as the mouse speed being too high, but that happens on Windows as well.
I'd recommend installing the widescreen fix mod and editing the games config to allow higher refresh rates and higher resolutions.
Played the whole game without any problems.
In the Initial Menu the Background is not visible and while launching the game the initial videos do not get shown. Playing with the default Steam Linux Runtime

Works well. Needs to decrease mouse speed in game options.
Played with Proton 5.0-7.
The game runs very well.
Mouse was too fast, but turning down the sensitivity in options helped with that.
Yes, the game works like a charm with Proton v4.11. Mouse sensitivity needs correcting, but this bug has been reported across platforms.
Mouse sensitivity was very high. I had to reduce mouse sensitivity to minimum settings in order to correct the problem. Afterward, mouse sensitivity still seemed higher than normal, but the game was playable with those settings.

Installed https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-republic-commando-graphics-fix/downloads/star-wars-republic-commando-graphics-fix to be able to play in 1080p. Works flawless!

Needs ffdshow installed in its wineprefix for the menu to show up properly. Just Generic MPEG-4 is fine, and I'd recommend turning ffdshow instances to none in its settings or else the game will tab out whenever it loads the menu. Controller support is dogshit, but that's the case on Windows too.

At first I had launch options set to "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 DXVK_HUD=fps primusrun %command%" But I found works just as well with launch options set to just "primusrun %command%".

Use republic commando fix mod to play at modern resolutions and to fix mouse sensitivity. Unfortunately, mice always glitch out a bit in menus, so use arrow keys. These bugs are present on windows as well.
