3+ hours so far on linux. no issues at all. haven't been flagged as a "hacker" either yet
Works very well out of the box (800+ fps on singleplayer, 90 fps on multiplayer). No launch options needed.
Punkbuster (but not strictly required)
For multiplayer, it failed to connect to one server, but the next worked fine. Singleplayer
My graphics card is pretty old, but you'd probably need a pretty good one to stand a chance at running this via Proton.
Significant fps drop after 15 minutes of playing. Initially it ran at 60+ fps, in the hub area and in mission. However, after that 15 minutes, it consistently would drop to < 10 fps even on the lowest settings.
I had to launch with DX11 (not the normal launch and not DX12). Otherwise, the game would just have a weird blueish screen on boot and not let me do anything. It seems like it probably was doing something as I could hear noise as if I was hovering over buttons, but nothing was visible.
Couldn't get it to run, even with modifications
I tried the steps in https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/comments/alrg6u/divinity_original_sin_2_de_on_linux_with/ , but I wasn't able to get it to run.
With better hardware (a graphics card newer than 7 or so years old), this game would probably be fine out of the box.
Had around 20-30 fps on Proton vs consistently 30+ (30-50ish) on native Windows
Running via Proton is much better than the native Linux port. The native port had insane input lag (~1 sec) on both keyboard and controller.
After 77 hours of playing the game via Proton, the game crashed either 0 or 1 times. I don't remember, but it was basically flawless.
Very rarely, the screen would scratch a little bit when moving.

without the RADV flag, game immediately leaks 32GB memory and crashes my machine. with the flag, it doesn't start
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV %command%
Doesn't start on multiple version
Tried with:
Proton 5.0.9 with flags PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 WINEESYNC=0 mesa_glthread=true %command%
. Shows error report dialog interface.
Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST with no flags. Gives error stating it failed to core dump. Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST with no flags. Gives error stating it failed to core dump.
Game runs well OOTB, with only occasional lag spikes, specifically during explosions.
Game lags a bit during certain sequences, specifically explosions.
At the start of Chapter 6, Battle of Takodana, when Finn cuts open the door with the lightsaber, my game crashed. This is the only crash I've seen so far.
Works basically out of the box. Just add the audio fix.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
fixes looping audio
The startup screen would initially flicker a bit if ran on my second monitor, but that went away quickly and didn't happen at all on my main one. Regardless, the flickering went away no matter what before the main menu.
Very easy to install and use with minimal configuration changes. Even with nonstandard nouveau drivers on an old NVIDIA GPU.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Fullscreen caused major discoloring (red screen) and messed up my input/mouse location (two monitors)
Given the frequent crashes, its hard to make progress.
Game crashes every 15 minutes or so. Had to stop it via Steam.
Great experience
Had a few stutters, probably due to shader calculations, but those resolve quickly.
Runs great out of the box
Mouse sensitivity was absolutely insane, due to the game's default resolution. Updating the mouse sensitivity in the settings did not fix this. I had to change the resolution to be higher (which I was going to do anyways) for it to be more reasonable. I'm not sure if native Windows faces the same issue.
The game is quite loud. Even at the lowest volume settings, I had to lower it externally to the game. No idea if this is also a problem with native Windows.
