Game doesn't launch
Tried with default Proton, experimental and 6.3-8 but the game doesn't start at all
- Downloaded Xlive.dll from https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/22591?tab=files
- Pasted into $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 3
Playing windowed at fullscreen resolution solved the Alt-Tabbing problem
To solve the input inaccuracy I had to add these lines in the Fallout.ini file: [Controls] fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0 fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0 fForegroundMouseBase=0 fForegroundMouseMult=0
The file is located in: $Home/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/22300/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Fallout3
Works like a charm: even in fullscreen Alt-tabbing with 2 monitors is fast and stable
Tried many versions of Proton including GE without success
Tried to verify file integrity between each try to let Steam reset the install script. The game installs, but Origin is broken.
Some stuttering in gameplay and major stuttering in cutscenes. Disabling V-Sync seems to help
Select the default wineprefix and run winecfg, in the "Graphics" tab, flag "Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows"
Alt+Tab doesn't let me work on my 2nd monitor. At the moment I didn't find a solution for this problem
I had a problem with radial menu: whenever I pressed "Q" to open it I couldn't get to the sub-menus to view quests, throwables, ecc. I fixed it with protontricks
I had these problems after switching from Wayland KDE Arch to X11 Gnome PoP_OS
Game opens a white window and only sound works
Tried either on Wayland and X11 with different Proton versions (GE-Proton7-48, GE-Proton7-53, Proton Experimental, Proton 7.0-6, Proton 6.3-8 and Proton Hotfix), activated gamemode, turned off E-Sync and V-Sync, but the game does not start. Maybe the problem is the fact that I have a multi-monitor configuration.
The game is a stutterfest no matter what proton version, beta or graphical option I choose
The official port doesn't even start, there is a beta called something like "Linux_startup_fix" but it doesn't work. There is no other option other than Proton to run this game
