Framerate drops in initial sections to below 20fps.
Cannot run the config.exe through Steam since it claims to not exist. Be prepared for random framerate drops, but they aren't game breaking.

Restored missing files from the retail release and installed a widescreen fix.
The vanilla game will work the same as it should on Windows, but the problem is it's obviously missing files and poor optimization which result in audio being missing, some graphical bugs, and might even present crashing. It's playable, but not ideal. Using this here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1593741074 you can restore said files which does fix everything and also let's you play in widescreen.

Mostly works, but can have hard crashes
Game might crash the first time you access options to set graphics, it might also ocassionally cause an unrecoverable GPU crash and force you to reset your PC.

Installed fine, started up fine and the controls are great once changed to BioSnuffy's Layout
40hz/40fps
This horror/detective game runs and controls great on the Steamdeck, also looks good. The Steamdeck is a perfect place to play this game with no tinkering needed other than picking a good community layout for the controls.

Works out of the box with "Proton 6.3-8"
Transparent textures on tools and weapons is still an issue as of 6.3-5. Aside from that the game runs okay on all versions.
In one particular section in the subway tunnels, where you have to turn two steam valves, all audio except enemy voices and footsteps seemed to stop. After that section other audio played as normal.
On all Proton versions beyond 4.11, all handheld tools and weapons were transparent, with just a faint outline of them. This made using the detective tools difficult, though not impossible. All other in-game objects and textures were seemingly unaffected.
Mouse sensitivity seems to be really high in this game. I don't know if it's a Proton-related issue or just how the game is, but I had to change it to the second-lowest setting to get something resembling what I'd consider the "default" setting in other games.
Although the game runs fine on the latest version, I would recommend going with 4.11 due to the aforementioned texture issues. The game still runs just as well.

Force Proton 4.11-13
Started playing on Proton 5.0-7, but was having a weird glitch where only the weapons (pistol, pipes, crowbar etc..) were rendering semi-transparent. Same glitch described here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/4720/discussions/0/357285562497042905/ I tried changing graphics settings of all combination, glitch wouldn't disappear. Then forced Proton version to 4.11-13, glitch is gone, everything works fine.
Like the title says, you have to use an older version of Proton (4.11 or older) to fix the "held items are transparent" glitch. Game runs great afterward.
The game runs super great with the exception of the transparent weapons held.
Any weapon or objects that is held turns transparent.
Game works perfectly out of box. I played for 6 hours and beat the game, no problems.
Works out of the box
Good performance, no bugs or issues observed.
Works out of the box.

Working perfectly out of the box.

perfect 144 fps maxed out. no crashes, glitches or other issues.

Proton 3.7-7 Beta. Game runs great. doesn't detect the controller.

I needed to use xact to fix the missing audio. Other than that it runs perfectly fine.

No audio.

Flawless and with good performance, since Proton 3.6-7 the in-game audio now works too on my system.

Works well except there is no sound.

Runs great but there is no sound at all.

Game installs and runs. Played first level. Gamepad is supported but 360 controller not recognised played with mouse and keyboard.

Only played a few minutes, but no problems so far and good performance. Suggest kb/m config if using Steam Controller.

Loaded it up, looked, moved around, everything seemed to work okay.
