Just use Proton to play the Windows version, the native version has some stability problems and for some reason didn't like my Xbox Series controller. Windows version through Proton is plug and play!
The game runs greats.

I tried the native linux version and it freezes on initial screen, Feral does not gives any solution.
It seems this only happens with nvidia, I've tested it on AMD and it works great, same thing with other feral games, the only solution is to use Proton 9.02 and it works great, it just takes longer to load. I really prefer native, I hope feral fixes this.
works out of the box

Puedes utilizar Proton en DiRT 4 sin problemas, lo que añade algunas opciones de *antialiasing* que de modo nativo no están disponibles.
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 %command%

Opening Steam overlay crashes the game. Consider disabling it in the properties to avoid unexpected crashes when pressing Shift + Tab.
Runs well, but beware of Steam overlay crash

To get working steering wheel in game, install Steering Wheel Manager - Oversteer.
As long as you don't have sim-gear, it's no problem playing it, didn't try a controller though, because I'm trying to play with the sim-gear
Thrustmaster T300RS Wheel, Shifter & Handbrake wouldn't be detected.
works out of the box

Seeing other cars on a screen lowers your framerate
Lowering or disabling msaa and crowd quality improves performance

I wish more games do the same.
40hz/40fps mode.
Text might be a bit too small. Still readable but not comfortable.
With TDP limit, GPU Clock Limit, Non-demanding settings on High/Ultra it still run great on 40fps with a TDP hovering around 11~13W
May benefit a little more with tweaking some settings to help with shader rendering at the entrance of races.

Game does not reach 60 fps during rally stages
It just works
some random crackling in cutscenes
performance drops and screen tearing in replays/cutscenes
My t300 RS with the hid-tmff2-dkms driver the wheel was detected however I had to use some inspiration from this post: https://gist.github.com/mjmenger/722359eb2fbc49020173dc99e3b9d3d7 to adjust the following xml block from:
<group name="scroll">
<action name="down">
<axis name="di_y_axis" type="negative" deadzone="0.0" saturation="1.0" />

</action>

and then reload the input preset for the t300 in game.
My issue was that the menu for input selection would constantly scroll because the game detected the accelerator as fully depressed.

No issues, runs as expected
Runs perfectly OOTB.
only tried/found one race, because it is missing players.
A terrific (and native) racing experience on the Deck! For maximum enjoyment, map your Grip buttons to be paddle shifters.
The proton version runs almost (95% I guess) as good in performance as the native linux version, but misses the constant crashes.
The Game runs without flaws thanks to Proton; the native Linux Version had some crashes.
Online-Multiplayer was not tested because it was missing players when I tried a few times - never tried on weekends yet.

I have no issue's with this game running with proton. I posted a steamcommunity video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fii7gY_3lXI

Works perfectly fine with DXVK. Some shadow flickering was visible though.

With 3.16-8 finally works. Everything works as it should, including RaceNet.

The new beta fixed the crashes at startup. Works fine with DXVK now.

Didnt start with DXVK. Also tried Winde D3d . This got the game starting and menus working. But it then crashes very fast even before loading the race.

Doesn't work, it will crash very fast.

Game used to run perfectly (including online etc.), but now it suddenly crashes on startup. Could be something to do with a native linux version coming out later this year...?

The games doesn't launch with default options. It will launch if Wine D3d11 is enabled, but it crashes while loading the first race.

Doesn't start with default Proton settings. Game will launch with Wine D3d11, but crashes when loading a course.

Dirt 4 game play WAS working prefectly except code masters servers wouldn't connect, updated graphics driver and now it won't even launch. :(

Everything works straight out of the box with a wireless xbox360 controller and an ultrawide screen resolution.

Couldn't connect to the game servers, but single player worked flawlessly

Runs out of the box.
