I'll always have a soft spot for the original Audiosurf, but this is decent enough with its new gamemodes.
FPS drops significantly when reaching the end of all tracks, as the light that emits from the end goal is graphics-intensive.
The only supported file system folder is /home/<username>/Music/
, so a symbolic link is required in this folder to point to other music repositories if you wish to play with them.

Installed the Audiosurf 2 community patch found on https://audiosurf2.info
No issues.

works perfectly fine
a few weeks back i posted a borked report and ive now gotten the game working the most i will say is kde neon seems to be incredibly hit or miss for proton support

native launches, proton does not
when running native, i can select songs and whatnot and actually get it to generate a track, but it does not play audio or let me start moving ive tried countless proton versions and none have worked (all crashing on startup) these issues pop up regardless of whether i use the community patch or not

The PCGamingWiki page for Audiosurf 2 lists support for 120hz but there doesn't appear to be an option to change refresh rate in-game; gameplay is locked to 60hz.
Works very well
i put my music in the sd card for easier access (appears as e drive)
Community patch and workshop mods work perfectly too.
Launched with proton ge instead of native runtime because otherwise workshop content and local song library where not available.
The native version is completely borked - audio didn't play at all and whenever I could finally get a game to start (which was not often, given the play button had a habit of popping in and out of existence), it froze immediately.
I gave up and tried the Proton version, which did not run at all on the latest Proton, nor the latest Proton-GE. Following other reviews, here I eventually tried Proton 3.7, which works flawlessly.
Text was a little small
Native works without any problems
Tested with a keyboard/mouse and a Steam Controller. Game works perfectly for me. Did not try Proton

It runs great Native. There was even a pre-populated directory pointing to the SD card on the Steam Deck in the browse music section.
40Hz / 40Hz is my default configuration
The menu text can be a little small, but not a deal breaker
Works great; use Proton over Native

Honestly the Proton-run version is better than the "Native" version here. Browsing for files is much simpler, not locked down to a bunch of Linux folders that would never have music in them and able to browse easily to my mounted NTFS drive containing my music. Play is much smoother than the native version as well, where I had experienced some lag with the mouse, that is not present under Proton.
The only other thing is that while the Proton version will display wma files (the native version does not) it will not generate a track for them still. mp3 files are still perfectly fine.

Not working at all
Everytime i tried to run the game in Proton (because i need that community patch that is only on Windows), it wouldn't start at all and sometimes the Steam app freezed. Tried everything on the Internet and nothing worked.
Songs would not preview in the menu and would not build a track correctly (they were all a 1 second track) until I installed pulseaudio-alsa
Yes, It works better with higher graphics compatibility over the native version.
The game will be out of memory sometimes, Also it only works on Proton 3.7 or 3.16 based on my testing. Newer versions crash on start. I have not tested the latest or beta versions of Proton.
It works out of the box on Proton 3.7 or 3.16-9 and has better graphics compatibility then the native Linux version. Many workshop items that do not work on Native Linux will work fine using the Windows version with Proton.
Proton 5.13-5, beta: beforejune2018_xp

Both native and Windows version recently stopped working for reasons I haven't figured out yet, forcing it onto Proton 3.16-9 seems to get it running again.
With the right Proton version, everything runs fine again, no issues.

Finally, a way to play AS2 on Linux without audio issues, input lag, or unstable framerates!
CAN play songs, but: Cannot navigate through folders in My Music (after symlinking to to game's drive_c My Music folder), can only click on songs at the root of that directory (in the panel to the right of the folder list). Alternatively, to select a song, use the Windows Explorer option from which point you can navigate to anywhere in your Linux system, although you will have to keep selecting the next song after song finish this way.

Native is hot garbage, and Proton doesn't work.
V-sync and antialiasing are broken in the native version, and no amount of tweaking got the game to start under Proton.
The native version can be made mostly-playable by using "vblank_mode=0 %command%", but it's frustrating that this is an issue.
Crash when starting any song
a stable 60fps framerate is a must for this RHYTHM-based game, so good luck getting high scores on anything but the easiest game modes
poor FPS and input lag on any setting or resolution

Game crashes when you choose a song and press play.
Decided to try playing Audiosurf 2 through Proton and not the native port. The game makes it to the menu, but when you click a song and press play, it crashes. It does not go in game.
