Some small text in menus and gameplay but still legible
Ran with CryoUtilities tool active (recommended settings). Defaulted to medium settings in-game, changed AA to FXAA High.
Changed the "MaxSmoothedFrameRate=" in the DefaultEngine.ini file to 90 to match the OLED Deck's refresh rate.
Does not support Steam Cloud, I had to start a new game.
Some slowdown in a specific early cutscene (likely due to a sudden influx of enemies).
Went into BaseEngine.ini and changed MaxAnisotropy to 16 and MaxSmoothFramerate to 90
Added Click to be able to navigate launcher and main menu at first startup.
Text on launcher buttons is invisible, but buttons are still selectable via touchscreen or Trackpad + Click inputs. First listed button starts the game.
Controller is not enabled on first startup, you will have to go into the main menu settings via Trackpad + Click and enable "Xbox 360 Controller" in Controls settings.
Went into main_settings.cfg (found in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/57300/users/steamuser/Documents/Amnesia) and changed LimitFPS to false, however this did not properly uncap the FPS as almost all game elements/animations are locked to 60 FPS regardless.
Text/UI is small because the game (at least for me) defaulted to 1920x1080 resolution on first startup. Change to 1280x720 in settings menu and UI will be properly scaled during gameplay.
Game is locked to 60 FPS and cannot be tweaked to run at a higher framerate.

Used Ninter's, LoRd_0f's, and janma7's tweaks.
Followed Ninter's steps to replace the defunct Uplay with the current Ubisoft Connect launcher.
Used janma7's instructions for xinput compatibility, otherwise controller buttons would not be detected in-game.
Game is locked to 60 FPS max and cannot be tweaked to run at a higher framerate.
Nearly perfect 90 FPS gameplay with max settings + 2x MSAA on OLED Deck, but Ubisoft launcher is too much of a hassle
-playoffline
Followed FakeGiraffe's instructions in replacing the Uplay folder with that of the Ubisoft Connect launcher's.
Requires entering Ubisoft Connect password on each startup; tried TheGeonaute's solution of loading the game in Desktop Mode but it still required reentering the password upon switching back to Gaming Mode.
Used Ninter's instructions from the AC2 page (https://www.protondb.com/app/33230#nuYTcGb5bn) to replace the Uplay launcher with the current Ubisoft Connect launcher.
Cutscene subtitles trend slightly on the miniscule side.
Settings used:
- 1280x720/90hz (setting to 800p stretches the image)
- Vsync - Off
- Environmental Quality - High
- Textures Quality - High
- Shadows Quality - High
- Ambient Occlusion - HBAO+
- Anti-Aliasing - MSAA2x + FXAA
Framerate is variable depending on location; at ground level, FPS fluctuates around the mid 30s, higher up is closer to the 40s. Cutscene framerate does dip somewhat into the high 20s, but mostly during character close-ups and effects-heavy shots. A 30hz lock is probably a good idea (I couldn't get a consistent 40 FPS without severely compromising the game's visuals).
Used u/TiSoBr's method for bypassing the Ubisoft launcher password prompt, found here: https://old.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/vovl7c/just_a_quick_piece_of_advice_to_enjoy_ubisofts/ (remember to select "Remember Me" in the offline login prompt) - there was some weirdness in Ubisoft Connect trying to start the full launcher in offline mode, but exiting and trying the game again solved the issue.
Settings used:
- VSync - Off
- Stretching - Off
- Environment Quality - High
- Texture Quality - High
- Shadow Quality - High
- Ambient Occlusion - HBAO+
- Anti-Aliasing Quality - FXAA
- Bloom - On
-playoffline
Added -playoffline to the launch options to bypass Ubisoft Connect
Framerate is fairly variable depending on the enviroment; interiors and smaller-scope areas frequently stick to the 90 FPS cap but cities sometimes can drop as low as the high 60s.

At launch, game will attempt to log into defunct Ubisoft servers for ~1 minute before timing out and letting you continue onto the main menu. This cannot be avoided.
Framerate is highly variable in AC3, even after lowering settings; some environments will run at 90 FPS but any location that is large enough or features enough NPCs can dip the framerate into the 40s/50s. Certain cutscenes heavily impact performance as well. Recommend 40 FPS cap on OLED Deck because of this, but also due to the fact that graphical glitches occur when running above 80 FPS.

- Ambient Occusion - HBAO+ (low)
- God Rays - High

Deck default setting is Mouse & Keyboard Input, need to manually switch to a Gamepad-style input both in Steam's controller config as well as the Xbox 360 Controller setting in-game.
Settings used:

- Texture Quality - High
- Anti-aliasing Quality - FXAA
- Shadow Quality - High
- Reflection Quality - Normal
- Anisotropic filtering quality - 16x
- Ocean Quality - High

Game is locked to 62 FPS max and cannot be tweaked to run at a higher framerate (60hz lock recommended).
The PCGamingWiki page for Audiosurf lists support for 120hz but switching to 90hz in the game's settings has no effect, with the game continuing to display at 60hz.
The PCGamingWiki page for Audiosurf 2 lists support for 120hz but there doesn't appear to be an option to change refresh rate in-game; gameplay is locked to 60hz.
30 FPS average on OLED Deck (dips down into 20s in effects-heavy areas) with custom Quality settings

These are not the settings you use if you want the game to run well. This is for the user who wants crisp, high-quality visuals on their Deck (though hair still has a weird dithering effect) without regard for overall performance. Have not tested in Act 3.
Settings used:
- Display mode: Borderless
- Maximum frame rate: 30 FPS
- Vertical synchronization: Off
- Anti-aliasing/upsampling: TAA
- Resolution scaling: 110%
- Motion blur: On
- View distance quality: Medium
- Foliage quality: Medium
- Textures quality: High
- Effects quality: Medium
- Shadows quality: Low
- Post process quality: Medium
- Anti-aliasing: Very high
- HDD Compat Mode: Off
These settings are not for the faint of heart. I wasn't satisfied with the soft/dithering visuals of the preset that auto-applies on Deck, so I tried to push things as far as feasibly possible. The result is a gameplay experience that looks great, but also frequently dips into the mid 20s from the 30 FPS frame cap. Given that a signifcant aspect of the combat lies in correctly timing parries, I feel a disclaimer is needed.
Game is locked to 60 FPS max and cannot be tweaked to run at a higher framerate without breaking it.
Accessed bmengine.ini via steamapps/compatdata folder and made the below modifications:
- MaxAnisotropy=16
- bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
- MaxSmoothedFrameRate=90
Use touchscreen or connected mouse to navigate launcher and settings.
Followed this link's instructions for changing the FPS cap to 90 (ini can be found via steamapps/compatdata): https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_City#120.2B_FPS
Graphics settings can only be changed through the launcher, requires touchscreen or connected mouse.
FPS drops slightly during traversal, remains steady during combat.
