click play, steam says it's running but no window pops up. after a few seconds steam seems to give up trying to launch it.
a stable 60fps framerate is a must for this RHYTHM-based game, so good luck getting high scores on anything but the easiest game modes
poor FPS and input lag on any setting or resolution
Finally, a way to play AS2 on Linux without audio issues, input lag, or unstable framerates!
CAN play songs, but: Cannot navigate through folders in My Music (after symlinking to to game's drive_c My Music folder), can only click on songs at the root of that directory (in the panel to the right of the folder list). Alternatively, to select a song, use the Windows Explorer option from which point you can navigate to anywhere in your Linux system, although you will have to keep selecting the next song after song finish this way.

sound quality set to high, medium, or low - borked for all. menu and loading screen music work but once in game audio breaks. have to play the game on mute :(

When there's a lot of action you cannot hear everything that is happening, but better than no audio at all.

Huge thanks to T'ai Fu for his method, works just a charm. Native version runs terribly since the 64 bit update for me, but proton saves the day!
- Alt+tab whilst in fullscreen works okay if a bit slow (although COH2 sometimes doesn't appear on my panel alongside other windows)
- Alt+enter works if you're in main menu (it creates a borderless window). Otherwise when pressed in game it means the window seems to disappear but is still running. -windowed launch option doesn't work.
