- Increase your vm.max_map_count! Follow the Arch Wiki (Part 5, 5.1) https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Gaming
- Use ProtonGE (GE-Proton9-1 & 9-2 work!) Install it either per ProtonUp-Qt or manualy. It must be GE-Proton9-x!
- WAIT, Proton need a little while to set everything up (7-15min, or even longer). Be Patiant. Get a cup of tea or touch some grass.
- You now can play the base game without mods. If you want Content Manager & Custom Shaders Patch, the thinkering now really begins.
(5.) The CM & CSP Part of this guide still works. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2828364666 *Note: I had to run CM as "AssettoCorsa.exe" because the other method didn't work for me. I also couldn't get the Content Manager GUI running. (because the first method didn't work) **Note: I ran the Content Manager latest version + CSP v0.2.2.
Have a nice day!
Only at Startup.

Use the Vulkan session. I found that on mid-range Hardware Vulkan runs better than the default non-Vulkan session.
You can now play the Game.
Cheers. Debian Testing btw.
Doesn't work (for now), because of new ANTI-CHEAT!!
It used to work without any problems (besides first-time proton setup time & 3-4min boot time) but they changed there Anti-Cheat (to FACEIT) and now it doesn't work anymore, it just spits out a blackscreen that even after +10min isn't displaying anything. I tested it with 2 diverend Proton GE versions & Vanila Proton 8.0

This is the beauty of using Linux (most of the time ;-))
Just use ProtonGE (9.2 being the latest as of writing), install it per ProtonUp-Qt or manually, Start the Game & wait for ~3-4minutes to let Proton setup itself, and your good to go! Cheers.
