The plot is frankly weak, you can see that the game was finished in a hurry, but I think it's worth playing.

Occasionally there is a slight crackle, nothing significant.
After changing the proton version, the keyboard layout changed to Russian and the assigned keys disappeared. I managed to solve it by connecting gamepad and changing proton again.
Using proton-ge 8-32 crashes on the last map, switching to proton 5-13 solves the crashing problem, but performance drops catastrophically.
The biggest bug in the game is the last map (prison). Immediately after moving to this location there is a crash without an error. Version proton-ge 8-32. After changing to proton 5-13 the crashes stopped, performance dropped significantly, constant stators and freezes. I was helped by switching to TGK-proton-experimental.bleeding.edge.9.0.129744.20241023. This version of proton I installed using proton-qt. Performance and stability, in my case, is much better than 5-13.

The game crashed on "Prison tunnels" level (After ~10 hours gameplay). Cannot complete the game. I had to move saved to Windows.
The game crashed on "Prison tunnels" level (After ~10 hours gameplay). Can not complete the game. I hadto move saved to Windows and complete the game. Just crash on loading, no errors.
Before crash all was good

on a SteamDeck "sleep & wake" cycle, the game started crackling slightly at regular intervals when not closed.
Runs straight out of the box, clear audio, perfect input recognition. Has around 2.5 to 3hrs of playtime on battery with the default graphics configuration for me.

Fun and all until you near the end of the game.
Very bad stutters after getting to the restricted zone and switching to Proton 5.13
Crashing in restricted zone @ around 15 hours of gameplay, next to the end of the game. Mitigated by changing Proton version to 5.13 but that drops frames like crazy.
Play till the restricted zone on Linux, backup the save to a USB stick, transfer, then switch back to a windows machine and finish the game.
you would get into the game just to not be able to finish it due to the crash, very frustrating.
the game runs perfectly until you get to the restricted zone, then it crashes without fail. I tried with multiple playthroughs and versions of proton.
I don't know if it was just the game or Proton fault.
Could not finish the main story because of a bug that causes the game to crash near the end of the game.

Unfortunately after 13-14 hours of playing when you enter "Restricted zone" game started crashing, i tried multiple versions of proton and changing graphics settings and nothing helped
The game runs wonderfully, which is something I couldnt have said a couple years ago when I last tried it. The game looks amazing on Ultra
Install and Play. Can't be simpler!
Graphic on medium; Resolution 950x540 with FSR gets around 3h playtime
Subtitles ar hard to read.
Steam has put this game in the "unsupported" category. Don't know why. It works perfect on steamdeck. Some textlines will be hard to read, that's all ...
Works out of the box
No major issues encountered
The game ran smoothly and overall fine until the Restricted Zone. It's a bit of a buggy game but that's not proton's fault.
I've ran into one significant bug so far, which is that about 15 hours into playing the game when I was supposed to enter a new area of the map called the "Restricted Zone" I crashed to desktop. It'd be all find and dandy if it was just one crash, but it's something within that zone itself that crashes me and since the game autosaved me in the zone, every time I try and play the story I instantly crash to desktop.
Experience is the same as Windows but alt-tabbing actually works well.
The effects, not voices, can go out of sync in cutscenes where the player has no control. I believe I had this issue on Windows 10 as well so it seems to be a game specific issue, and it doesn't happen in all cutscenes.
Just like the windows version, the game can stutter pretty hard at times.
When on Windows, alt-tabbing causes the mouse cursor to always get displayed on screen and behave oddly and would require a restart. Under Proton however, this issue doesn't happen at all.
Works almost perfectly. Have been able to play normally.
Sometimes shadows tend to "jiggle" around. Very minor and only visible when it's sunny.
had to use 5.13 to play but after that it worked perfectly
Playable, but has performance issues like in Windows
Some textures were muddied and not fully loaded
Occasionally the game will stutter and framerate will drop in populated areas and firefights

Homefront 2 already has problems in Windows, but the Linux version is fully playable.
Many detail textures and minor light sources exhibit flickering issues. This does not affect the gameplay.
Frequent stuttering in certain conditions (e.g. highly populated areas), but most likely a result of the base game's existing issues.
I played the entire game start to finish while completing most (but not all) side content. I also played through Voice of Freedom, Aftermath, and Beyond the Walls.
Multiplayer was the low point of the experience with frequent performance dives, but not entirely unexpected given the hardware and existing performance issues. My character from the Windows versions synced and I played through Boom Patrol and Brownstone without any additional problems.
Other performance chokepoints include the Elmtree district, the Goliath mission, and the Beyond the Walls campaign-- essentially, moments where many NPCs are present. Again, this may not be a Linux issue.
I can also confirm that the TimeSplitters 2 Chicago/Syberia arcade works as expected, but did not finish the levels.

Definitely still a good game. The plot is intense.
Sometimes the NPCs' weapons don't render, a little bit of graphical latency sometimes, nothing major.
Occasional and momentary unresponsiveness
Runs like it did on Windows, didn't play for a long time though.
funciona bien
Works perfectly, ultrawide supported
runs OOTB, dont try using aco tho, gets you into numerous troubles :)
Runs out of the box only with Proton 3.16
For me runs perfectly “out of the box“.

Still has noticeable frame loss, but is much more comfortable to play with from last report. I did experience a crash after at least an hour of game play. Now, the biggest issue is save points. Perhaps this is a game issue itself? I read up online that the save points are at weapons lockers. But I captured a ton of strong points from the KPA, and used a weapons locker each time. And I believe it is also supposed to save when you "wake up" after dying. Instead, once the game DID crash, it returned me to the starting point of the first mission after you defeat the convoy with the barrels. This is frustrating, however I don't know whether it's an issue with Proton-- or if it is an issue with the actual game.
Here is a similar/the same issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/223100/discussions/0/154645539344397564/

Just click play. Graphic setting: very high. FPS 50-55.

Works out of the box but with some framedrop

works OOTB. some framedrops. if you use valves mesa with ACO you have to disable ACO: RADV_PERFTEST=llvm %command%

Has noticeable frame loss, even on lowest settings, but still playable. Has a big issue with crashing as well. When I disabled vsync, it seemed to increase frames, yet the noticeable frame loss is still there.

Performance is fine overall with some small stutter during shader compilation. The problem is that there is some regular stutter (peak in frame times). That issue finally got much better by switching to borderless window and disabling vsync.

The game always loads just at the first mission the tunnel and does not exit, having to kill the process.

Game runs flawlessly out of the box. 60FPS @1080p with settings on High and SMAA x2.

would not run under 4.2 but ran without any tweaks under 3.16 beta.
Locked up desktop once in 45 hours but otherwise has been perfectly stable. Stutters for a fraction of a second, every so many seconds, but not sure whether this is tied to proton as windows users seem to have similar complaints, but I find it quite playable.

No tweaks whatsoever needed. Ran straight out of the box at Ultra, some very slight stuttering but generally FPS's around 90-120.

Runs fine at 60FPS with the odd frame rate dip here and there when there's a lot going on onscreen. No graphical anomalies observed. Audio works as expected. Didn't have to tweak anything to get it running. Easily comparable to Windows.

The game runs fine and I haven't noticed any crashing or game wrecking glitches; however, the performance is not at all consistent. I've had fun with it, and I plan to keep playing, but every 30 or 40 seconds the framerate tanks and sometimes even hangs at 1 or 2 for a split second. This issue is not related to graphical demand because it seems to have no relation to the action on the screen. If I just stare at a wall I see the hiccuping too.

Playable, stutters here and there but not game-changing
