env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY %command%
Only during the vs screen. There seems to be a slight slow down. Not sure if this is unique to my experience or if that is part of the game. The exit animation on the VS screen seems choppy.
This is now working on the latest proton experimental version for Arc GPUs. Some of the regression updates were fixed.
Competitive fighting games need a stable consistent 60fps which this cannot currently provide in both 1v1 and 2v2
Particle effect like Orcane's Bubbles, Zetterburn's fire, Lox's lava, and Forseburn's smoke cause's slowdown. 1v1's holds almost consistent 60fps otherwise. 2v2's is unable to hold consistent 60fps and dips into the high 40's at points.
If exclusivly playing 1v1's casually, the frame dips may not be that big of a deal since its very minor and at the very worst go to 50fps. Normally 55fps

Not much I can add here. It just works.
env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY %command%
I previously had a not working report and it would crash when opening but downgrading to Proton Version 7 did the trick. Not sure why that version worked and not the latest version.
If you're on arch and want to use gamecube controllers, install the wii-u-gc-adapter
(aur) and hid-gamecube-adapter-dkms-git
(aur) packages. Then run wii-u-gc-adapter
and connect your gamecube adapter.
I reported I was unable to get it running before. I am positive I tried many versions of Proton and got he same crash error. However recently I tried 7.0-6 again and it works, I don't know why (Mesa drivers did update, but that would be a surprising fix). I can't get it to launch on any other version of Proton.
Works perfectly on this version, I've played offline and online with no issues. I have not tested plugging in two controllers locally.
Works OOTB with minor settings change in controller tab
Steam Cloud sync stops sometimes

Keyboard input not detected, fixed by using XWayland.
UE-Rivals2 Game crashed and will now close
Error window appears. No proton version helps. I see one other report saying it doesn't work on Intel Arc GPUs so maybe it's that.
The UE-Rivals2 Game has crashed and will close
No proton version fixes it, and my gpu Mesa drivers are up to date
Worked perfectly out of the box
My sticks sometimes start drifting randomly (yes, this is specific to Rivals 2), but it never lasts very long and goes back to normal after some fiddling
if you play local and only use controllers should be fine, did not try ranked or any other online mode other then private.
keyboard inputs dont work, can get around this with my keybaord because it can map as a xinput or direct input controller.
Crashing in private lobbys if we sat in it to long with out selecting a map/chracter
Private games can crash in the menu if not started fast enough
I also tried Proton expermential,GE,Cachyos and 9.0-3
Unable to launch after extensive troubleshooting

Used various other Proton versions, installed vcrun2022 as instructed in previous reports, only ever got a "Fatal Error" window. Judging from the other reports on this page, it seems this game is unable to use intel graphics under proton, but has no issues with other graphics.
Works great out of the box
Seems fine. Controller support is good. Plays exactly as you'd expect. No apparent linux/proton/wine-exclusive bugs that I can report.
Note: Did not test playing with a keyboard.
Worked out of the box like native
Zero problems and no tinkering needed. Great experience.
TDP limit set to 10 watts
The game syncs settings between devices, so if you have a normal PC, switching will be a bad experience
gamemoderun %command%
Works out of the box. Can confirm since release that keyboard now works in linux.
Fatal Error
Window opens with "Fatal error!" message and window titled "The UE-Rivals2 Game has crashed and will close..."
Works fine, stock, experimental or GE
I've tried the protontricks reccomended here and it didn't fix the issue I was having.
720p at 50fps
Until the final release, I'm not sure whether this will work on my machine.
Online is great, just remember to use ethernet. If you want to use a GameCube controller, here is a helpful guide by the community.
Playing the beta for Steam Next Fest. Was able to boot up and play flawlessly
TLDR: Only controller works for now, keyboard is borked
Due to the game having multi-keyboard support with some custom-made system for it, it refuses to read virtual keyboards, like with wine or parsec. I've spent a good chunk of the betas trying to fix it but alas no go. You will not get keyboard working, trust me.
If you're playing on controller tho you're chilling and the game works great with no additional tweaks!
Character select broken
Can get to the character select screen, but then no input works except the back button in the upper left and the "add" button. I cannot select a character or start a match with only CPUs
Game does not start on Intel Arc card
vcrun2022
gamemoderun %command%
Run "protontricks 2935730 vcrun2022"
Game ran perfectly with no tinkering until this beta; installing vcrun2022 (e.g. through protontricks) seems mandatory now
Any online discrepancies were at the fault of Playfab and not the OS
Despite the game not being fully out, it plays just like it did on Windows. Played weekend 1 on Windows, switched in the time period between, and it works perfectly. Rivals of Aether is my most played game on Steam, so hearing that Rivals 2 worked on Linux after being on the fence to switching is what got me to jump that fence. Can't wait for release!
Had some initial lag when during my first game, but it was pretty much fine after that. Probably played for about 2 hours on this machine with no issues.
Beta Test, Typical GCC problems that Rivals 1 had. In game remapping was good enough.
Beta Test, the game runs at a constant >60fps at all times so far but is really chugging to hold that on my rig.
Beta Test, this was the point of the beta happening and so far its working out great for me.
Will be coming back to update this with new info from the following betas throughout the year.
