Gameplay works perfectly. Cut scenes broken
Cut scenes do not work
This game has worked perfectly for the 81 hours I have put in. Every version of proton has worked perfectly
Never had any issues with Sanctum. It plays just like a native game after 5 hours of coop
As others have said you have to replace the Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims 3/Game/Bin/Sims3Launcher.exe with TS3.exe. I created a symlink and the game has worked flawlessly for 19 hours
Game used to work. Now after launching the game the screen is black. IF you get an interface the colours bleed and the main screen is black. Game is not playable right now
Game launches, can create character and start a game. The UI elements show up with colour streaks in them but the main area is completely black. Same as previous versions of Proton
I played the offline single player game. Initially I had a black screen upon exiting the cut scenes. I unchecked vsync, light bloom, flare and the UI became available. I quit the game and started it again and then played for the next 30 minutes without issue.
The game is not very performant given my system, but its playable at ~45FPS with no shadows and no water details
I tried playing without PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% and the game is far more "performent" on the splash screen and the initial game selection. With the above option, the game is 'useable' but even with my specs I can only seem to achieve ~24fps regardless of the settings. The game stutters when several enemies appear from the ground and graphics at points appear to be floating (i.e. there is space between the sword and the sheath)
Without the option enabled, the game seems to get around ~70-80FPS but the UI in game suffers from severe colour bleed and the main window is completely black, thus making the game unplayable
The report below is a duplicate of my review of 4.2-9 as I had the exact same experience
