G27 worked out of the box.
Bit of stutter in the first 60 seconds, totally perfect for the following 15 minutes of testing.
Performance is noticeably worse than Windows, but still playable
Crashes every ~30 minutes
Added "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro" as others suggested, works flawlessly as far as I can tell
In order for gamepad controls to work, I had to delete \AppData\Local\Criterion Games\Burnout Paradise Remastered\Save\controls.ini in the game's compatadata folder.
Played over 7 hours with 5.13-4, the only issue I experienced was with alt-tabbing, which crashes the game.
This could be improved more-so by game updates than anything in Proton. These same problems are on Windows, just to a lesser extent.

Car windows are filled with blocky artifacts. No other visual issues as far as I could see.
Average FPS is very similar to Windows, but the stuttering problem on Windows is made worse here. It's possibly shader compilation, but I didn't play long enough to see.
Improved a lot since my last report, but the stuttering (which is present on Windows) is still significantly worse on Linux.
Heavy and constant stuttering. Average FPS is similar to Windows.
The game is in a much better state than it was in my previous report, I'd now consider the game comfortably playable with a couple asterisks
Rumble doesn't work on DS4 or Xbox One gamepad.
A slight stutter is still present, but significantly better than it was a month ago. Keep texture detail on low or it gets way worse.
(Played for over 10 hours on Linux)
If you have faster hardware than me, you *might* be able to play it without issues. But otherwise, it's not an enjoyable experience.
On Windows, 1440p60fps at high settings.
On Linux, 1080p,60fps at minimum settings with heavy stuttering.
I don't think it's possible to play online because the EA login prompt wasn't working for me, but I did not spend much time trying.
The final cutscene doesn't render correctly, then crashes the game
Performance is worse than windows, especially noticeable in the final level
Sometimes gets into menus, graphics aren't loading properly. Crashes before you can get in-game. Tested up to 5.11-GE-1-MF.
As of 5.13-1, menus load correctly, you can actually reach the mission select screens, but it still crashes before you can begin playing.
Frame pacing is a little off, but still playable.
Intro video is missing, main menu is missing a couple textures.Gameplay is unaffected.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1, disable Origin notifications/in-game. Performance is about ~30% worse than Windows, but still totally playable.

Performance feels about ~30% worse than Windows
Works great on 5.21-GE-1, including multiplayer with crossplay. Performance is identical to Windows as far as I can tell.
Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
The game switches itself to windowed mode at some point while playing and it's impossible to switch back to fullscreen.
Had to disable Steam Input on my Desktop for my DS5 to work, but this wasn't required on Steam Deck for whatever reason.
Works reasonably well on Proton 5.0-10
Audio is broken on 5.13-6, works fine on 5.0-10
Alt-tabbing crashes the game
Game crashes every 5 minutes on Windows, works perfectly with Proton. Native performance as far as I can tell.
Crashes during race load
5 years later, still crashes immediately on startup.
The game claims that your save is currupted on every launch, but they aren't and you can load all saves normally.
Performance is very close to Windows. The game is unstable in fullscreen, but works fine in windowed mode.
5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Toggling between windowed and fullscreen or changing resolution crashes the game.
The game crashed a couple times while playing in fullscreen mode, windowed mode was fine
As of 5.13-1, it goes in-game and you can start playing, but background and menu textures aren't loading correctly.
Bit of a stutter in the first 1-2 minutes of gameplay, after that it was flawless.
Turn off Origin notifications
The broken frame-rate cap makes this game completely unplayable
fullscreen mode is completely broken, it just flickers until it's set back to windowed/borderless.
