Beautiful game, works flawlessly on my machine
gamemoderun %command%
Great cozy game that seems to run on anything.
env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY %command%
Red and blue colour channels are inverted if using Wayland, disable using the custom launch options.
This game worked beautifully after installation from Steam on linux.
Works after installation no special configuration or game compatibility required! Excellent job by developers.
Good game, works out of the box.
Native build is finally playable on the Deck after the latest update
Tested it out in comparison to the Proton build, and they run surprisingly close to the same performance. With the Native build being only a frame or two ahead. What I personally recommend is going into the Vulkan Extension Settings, and activating all of the options. You'll get a few more frames out of the game. Just don't be confused in case the window looks a bit too oversized. There's a scroll-bar on the right that will take you down.
Buttery smooth native game
This can be run on max graphics settings and not suffer any slow downs or stuttering running at a consistent and smooth framerate. If you have Gamemode enabled globally as a service that runs automatically whenever you run games, you shouldn't experience slow downs.
Game works great. On Wayland, you'd need to unset the WAYLAND_DISPLAY environment variable.
env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY gamemoderun %command%
Slight glitch when moving the camera with Vsync turned on
Colors in game were off with the native version, blue trees, orange sky etc. Switching to Proton solved this.
taskset --cpu-list 0-3 %command%
In my case the games closed after loading screen with a cpu with 8 cores,so that I had to limit the number of cores using:
taskset --cpu-list 0-3 %command%
For CPUs with 6 cores it executed fine with out any issues.
Aside from that I am using latest proton version 9.0.X and runs flawlessly without any performance issue.
env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY %command%
Graphical bugs on Wayland, so the WAYLAND_DISPLAY environment variable needs to be disabled in the launch options
The native Linux version crashes on the steam deck on launch
Switching to Proton 9.0-3 made the game perfectly playable.
Native build is completely broken, does not launch. Proton works but only with 9.xx, I tried several others including GE versions with no luck. Proton 9.xx works well, no performance issues.
mangohud %command%
Using Proton 9.0-3 the game ran excellently with no issues, but the native version didn't launch at all. Keep in mind I only tried the demo for now.
Wonderful game that just works on Wayland. Very pleased :)
changed fps from unlimmited to 60
The game has no controller support. But the way the steamdeck handles mouse and keyboard, in for example firefox, works great here too. and did so ootb for me. I played for a while and building/using the games interface worked great. The trackpads are quite handy here.
Couldn't start a game on Wayland whatsoever. Tried multiple Proton versions and Native build, too. Didn't start a signle view/menu.
At this point, I think there are optimization issues.
The steam overlay didn't work out of the box; it worked after switching from nativ to proton experimental. The performance stayed abou the same; locked 60 FPS with 1.5 render scale.
CPU and GPU utilization were sub 20% both with and without proton (FPS set to Unlimited in settings).
Native runs fine OOTB :)
No real problems, haven't tried playing though proton though.
Choose latest experimental Proton to play it if Linux build keeps crashing for you. Otherwise, it runs better than I thought. Even the controls aren't that complicated, even though a community layout is best recommended.
Game instantly crashes unless using ProtonGE
The game just doesn't start. I've tried many versions of Proton, Native but nothing works..
unplayable on my hardware by now..
Game boots in a few ways. None of which worked for me. Tried with Proton GE latest I had and worked a charm.
Looks and runs great. Currently no controller layout and the emulated mouse might be a bit too imprecise for bigger projects.
Bind Z/X to back buttons to "undo"
Slightly small but readable
Using the emulated mouse setup forces you to go slower which actually fits the game quite nicely. Having native controller support would be nice but I still had a very fun and cozy time with the demo.
Had to change proton versions
Native would panic, try creating an UI to show whatever went wrong, then panic again and completly crash.
With proton it'd have similar results (but the error UI showed up) unless using 9.0-2, anything below would crash. Didn't try experimental, might work as well.
With 9.0-2 it worked well.
Chose the first option on every dialog box that came up
Works flawlessly
Impossible de lancer le jeu : je tombe systématiquement sur un message indiquant que la carte graphique n'est pas compatible
Demo
[Demo][Wayland] Game is unplayable on wayland. Kinda works on Xorg. Works good on proton
Wayland: Steam overlay ans screenshots didn't work. Xorg: Steam screenshots seems to work, but overlay crashes the game.
Right mouse button wasn't registering in a game
Steam Cloud issues
On launch there is a screen to chose which GPU to use.
On wayland it shows for around 1 second. If you don't react in time -- it crashes. If you fast enough -- you can paly the game (with other bugs)
On Xorg there are not such issue.
Using native build I've got really poor experience, especially on wayland. On Proton 9 everighting works fine.
The native version had issues with camera tilt with mouse. Switching to proton experimental fixed that
