I would recommend also using protontricks to install "EpicOnlineServicesInstaller.exe", though doing so will require you to login into epic games every time you launch the game. The upside being that all the Epic Online Services will work like leaderbaords, etc. Note you do not currently need this to work to join a multiplayer game.

You no longer need to fiddle with the EpicOnlineServicesInstaller.exe at least from my testing. Only difference from my last report was linking my steam account to an epic account. I wasn't even presented with a login window. You will still get a fatal error while loading without the protontricks fix mentioned above.
Was able to get into the single player campaign just fine, no visual or audio issues
Works perfectly after a quick fix
Followed m_muller's report notes to fix multiplayer timeouts. Worked flawlessly game after game after fix was applied :)
You could say it "soared" above my expectations
Bryce best derg. Worked flawlessly
Worked fine with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='wbemprox=n;msdmo=n' %command%
Terrian textures seemed to be broken but after a few flights the issue hasn't appeared again. Note for some reason discord screen sharing seems to aggravate this bug.
Multiplayer worked fine, was also able to host a game without issue
For Tacview support you can install Tacview through steam or wine and then use a symbolic syslink between the two directories to open the recordings easily.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='wbemprox=n' %command%
Shader's failed to compile which was fixed by installing a direct3dcompiler with the following command: protontricks 223750 d3dcompiler_47
Terrian textures missing on high setting, but again Discord screen sharing seems to aggravate this bug and allow the textures to display. After a while I was able to play without using screen sharing and the textures were visible on high.
I managed to fix being stuck on a blank screen after the splash screen my solution was:
- Fix the shader compiler errors with
protontricks 223750 d3dcompiler_47
- It would then go to a black screen which was fixed by removing
msdmo=n
from the dll overrides so that the new launch option wasWINEDLLOVERRIDES='wbemprox=n' %command%
.
For Tacview support you can install Tacview through steam or wine and then use a symbolic syslink between the two directories to open the recordings easily.
Play from start to finish without flaws
Sometimes transportation for Wilson breaks and you gotta redo it a couple of times (especially the train, had to just let him lay down and hope he wouldn't fall off), might be an issue on windows too though not too sure.
Everything ran beautifully without any issues on my hardware.
Crashed occasionally when loading levels but was fine afterwards
Was able to run the game fine with DX12, I should note that when I tried to screenshare with discord all hell broke lose (well more like my fps died)
Enjoyable experience
Fullscreened onto the wrong display, fixed it by dragging onto correct monitor in windowed mode then reenabling fullscreen

Played through the game twice, the first level seems to load low quaility textures. After the first level it is fixed.
Without the launch args the game only launches with 1/4 of the screen being visible

If you plan to be in a space a lot though and don't care about graphical quality then this doesn't seem to be that bad.

FPS was sitting around 20-30 fps on medium settings, in 720p, this fixed itself after 30 minutes but only when you reached space at which point game appeared to run at above 60fps (not 100% sure as mongohub doesn't seem to work well with this game even with it's reload key). I am not sure how this compares to running on windows with my hardware so take that as you will.
I orbited the mun, re-entered Kerbin's atmosphere and successfully crashed into the ocean at Mach 1.

The performance on my hardware isn't amazing (30-60 fps) but that's to be expected when below recommended specs but it's a huge upgrade from the 0-13 fps I was getting before. Seems to work well now would recommend trying again if you had bad performance before.
Swapped out the scummvm's files with the latest win 32 verision to get proper fullscreen (available from https://scummvm.org/downloads/)
The VM crashed at the gym's cutscene with an out of range error, skipping the cutscene bypassed the crash and allowed the game to continue.
Great experence and even more fun with mods and friends
I play a ton with mods and would recommend r2modman mod manager (available on the aur) to manage mod/modpacks for the game.
Game works perfectly except for a slight issue. The game is running at ludicrous speeds. You can beat some levels by swinging your mouse left and right hoping to complete a level within half a second
Worked well didn't notice any problems, couldn't test multiplayer as there were no games being hosted at the time
gamemoderun %command%
FPS would never rise above 5 despite sitting in the same areas for extended periods of time.
Multiplayer worked flawlessly, I was able to host a game and play with a friend
I was able to get a few games going with my friend however I was not able to get any good frames despite pre caching the frames so not sure what is happening.

Worked Perfectly
Installed with experimental and it worked out of the box with voice chat
One play session I had significant lag though that could of been discord
Custom anti-cheat
Run just fine out of the box
One prolonged session I noticed slowdown to around 15 fps

Had to patch glibc with the glibc-eac project by Frogging-Family to allow Easy Anti Cheat to initalise, as the version of eac squad uses doesn't have the fix for DT_HASH being removed.

Native verision isn't up to date, played the proton verision on multiplayer with friends and had an enjoyable experience.
After setting up your symlinks you're good to go
The top background color of the top bar was black for some reason though it didn't effect usage.
Very minor artificating when resizing the window, though adjusting anything to do with your view fixes the issue.
I was able to also register my advanced key with the software without difficulties.
Setup a symbolic link to my DCS wine enviroment's tacview recording location using the ln -s
command
The world view glitches a little when you resize the window but if you interact with the view it will immediately fix itself
Black bar issues from eariler seem to have been fixed

Without using Roberta all the midi music is missing.
Crashed once during a cutscene
I would highly recommend using roberta from https://github.com/dreamer/roberta
to be able to enjoy this game with the music intact.

You can fix the pink glitched videos with: WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1
Worked Perfectly
A great game to come back to when you have a spare 30 minutes
Crashing occured later in act 2 of the game this was solved by launching with the opengl 2 option.
Installed without any config
Could not play realistic tank battles, as I keep being told the anti-cheat was not initialized, was able to play realistic air and arcade tanks though
