Game runs great, sometimes shaders take a while to compile.
Probably works best on Deck capped at 60fps, maybe 75fps. Great experience nonetheless!
Launch with experimental Vulkan implementation.
DXVK and experimental native Vulkan both work great, Vulkan may give more performance.
Other than the minor input issue, game just works.
Sometimes editing menus in game would randomly close, can get annoying when building long roads and your progress just disappears.
No performance issues, no graphical issues. Feels like native.
Runs horribly compared to Windows.
Mouse movement was very hitchy
Constant stuttering, framerate constantly swaying between like 60-200fps, not playable
Occasionally freezes up completely for 1-3 seconds
From the horrible stuttering to the mouse hitching and freezing, this game has not been playable for me.
Game runs great on Linux now.
Around a year ago, the first time I had seriously tried to switch to Linux, the port for Counter-Strike 2 ran absolutely horribly, was completely unplayable on AMD and Nvidia hardware, but now it is fixed. Counter-Strike 2 now runs flawlessly on Linux
Replaced default executables with c1-launcher
The game did not work without replacing the executables with c1-launcher, after you do however, the game works great, but unfortunately it does not work out of the box.
I click play, it tries to launch before going back to the green play button.
Native does not work.
winecfg -> set Windows version to Win10
Game works with tweaks
Game just works as it would on a console!
40hz refreshrate
Hitman 3 is a great looking game that can be optimized for low-end hardware, and runs as well on Linux as it would natively.
It just works, no tinkering needed.
Voice chat, player sync, etc all worked great! Game is P2P without any anti-cheat.
There is no discernable difference between running native on Windows vs through Proton.
-vulkan
vcrun2022
Game crashes when saving
Game crashes after leaving shed
Does not work
Switched to Vulkan API in-game.
Some viewmodel shadows are bugged in Vulkan, they render fine when running in DirectX 12 through D3D12VK.
Game works and renders fine with DirectX 12, if you don't mind the minor graphical issues Vulkan can provide better performance, thought DX12 performance is more than adequate!
(WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8.dll=n,b" %command%)
Works great with BetterSADX mod if you want, but it is a pain to setup, vanilla SADX probably works fine too!
Stuttering and controller issues are a deal-breaker for a fast-paced 2D platformer like this. Oddly it was a lot better on my Deck OLED...
Tried many variants of Proton combined with different Proton options.
Controllers were not detected, or mapped incorrectly depending on Proton version or options.
Game reports to be running at 60fps, but looks really bad. Uneven framepacing maybe
Not too surprised, game is made on an old janky engine with lots of problems (ClickTeam Fusion I believe)
The native build works but is very out of date, if you can do some tinkering with protontricks it's best to play the Windows version.
Needs protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
to run the Windows version.
Native works well, but after tinkering Windows build works better.
Aside from one crash the game works and has performance that is equal to that of Windows.
Crashed once while loading a mission, upon loading the game again, the mission loaded just fine.
Works decently once community control scheme is set
Resolution maxed at 1024x768
Game works alright on Deck and can be played vanilla, but for the best experience (native res, OpenGL, other nice features) I recommend installing the OldUnreal227 patch, which can be done by adding the install exe as a non-Steam game and running it with Proton.
