Open Heroic and go to the game settings -> wine -> winetricks. In the search bar search for xact and hit install. After the install is done you can launch the game and the audio bug should be gone.
In menu and in game
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX='/home/$USER/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Super Meat Boy/pfx' winetricks xact
Happens in menu and in game
You need to run the command above in your terminal NOT as launch option. The command will fix the audio issues. Pls note this is the standard install path for Heroic if you changed it replace it with yout path.
Intermittent static.
On Heroic both GE and Wine didn't work, would either not start up at all or start up and just show white screen. Had to add Proton experimental. But heavy static in sound/music. Followingthis thread https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/18prtfe/comment/khqmtww/ fixed it. Use Winetricks to install xact and d3dx9.27 in game settings for Meatboy.
Sounds like a fire sound efect is playing all the time very annoying. Turing off the music made it go away but then there's no music.
No one else seemes to be reporting the weird fire sound so I'm guessing it's something to do with the Heroic Games Launcher version (signed into my Epic account though IDK that matters) and not the Steam version but I don't have the Steam version to confirm.
Works very well, no problems
BUG VISUAIS E ÁUDIO ESTOURADO
o jogo só inicia com proton ge, com wine ele abre e fecha. iniciando com proton ge ele fica com bugs visuais injogavel e o áudio reproduz normal mas do nada ele fica estourado.
Run protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
to fix audiovisual issues
The native build is playable, but is far out of date compared to the Windows version. In almost all cases, the latter is recommended.
Used windows ver work online play unlike Linux ver Extremely outdated and Crashes with new report
protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
Without audio chaged miss
Used Linux ver try play online first get Fleckling menus and short agter game crashed recommended used windows ver reason main problem

Flawless!
Power consumption was ~5 W, so you can expect roughly 8 hours of gameplay.
Works out of the box
Decrease the TDP to 5W. That should give 7 hours of charge on the Steam Deck OLED
Game works amazingly. I got it for free from Epic Games and its great!
Runs swimmingly.
50hz refresh rate
Capped to 50hz to improve battery life. Does not work properly at 40hz.
Game runs the 2010 version, so no Ridiculon OST. There aren't many additions in this update otherwise so I didn't bother to try it.
Just install and play
Install and play. It plays great and controls seems native.
Max TDP 3-4
6-7 hours 60fps Самая автономная игра из всех что запускал.
The native build works but is very out of date, if you can do some tinkering with protontricks it's best to play the Windows version.
Needs protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
to run the Windows version.
Native works well, but after tinkering Windows build works better.
Native version of game is working fine but its outdated, follow guide from user MHzBurglar to make windows version of game to run link below
protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
Works only with Proton GE, otherwise crash on launch.
As if it was on Windows is how well it ran.
Occasional stutter, minor but obvious in this kind of game
The salt wave in the world 3 boss has missing textures
Some rare stutters
The Windows build of the game will have no video and corrupted audio unless additional packages are installed into the prefix via ProtonTricks.
Install ProtonTricks in Desktop mode, and run the following command from the terminal:
protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
The Steam Deck plays the native Linux version of Super Meat Boy by default. While this version is "deck certified" and runs perfectly, it is an extremely outdated version of the game. It is the same 2010-release build as the "OG Beta" build on Windows, rather than the newer 2015 revision of the game.
In order to play the Windows version of the 2015 build on Proton, you need to force the game to use Proton Experimental or Proton 7.0-2, and make sure that you install D3Dcompiler_47 and XACT (XAudio) into the Proton Prefix usinf ProtonTricks. If these packages are not installed, the game will have no video, and the audio will corrupt/freeze the game once it gets to the title screen. With these packages installed, the game works flawlessly under Proton.
Occasional short freezes on Steam Deck
No problems
Had no problems with the game. Plays perfect, controls are very responsive.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Whenever I try to test out the dark levels for multiplayer, it skips to the results screen. At times it crashes when selecting the dark levels too.
protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
Main game works, but the multiplayer is not
xact has to be installed
Use this proton command: protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
xact needs to be installed, otherwise the sound will be messed up.
protontricks 40800 d3dcompiler_47 xact
No controller issues
Won't start
