Heavy lags if map loads at all
Most of the time crash to desktop on map load. Even if map loads it often crashes.
Native client runs but has lousy graphics. Windows client with proton looks nice, but is unplayable for me due to frequent crashes. Also tried it with all other proton version available, no change in crash behaviour.
Works flawlessly out of the box nowadays. No official servers, but there are enough other options.
Works well
Some micro lags, for single player nothing too serious but might cause issues in pvp
Shows crash window immediately after starting
Tried Proton versions 5.13-4, 5.0-10, 4.11-13 and experimental
Works fine
Sometimes weird artifacts of visual noise cover most of the screen. Zooming or twiddling the view solves it for me.
Used Proton Experimental
Steamplay better than native client
The native client consistently freezes fatally some moments after I place the industry district main building. Might be mod related but, using steamplay, I was unable to reproduce the issue with the very same savegame and the same mods active.
Demo: Always receive a Steam Client Error
The game (Demo version) always reports "Steam Client Error. Please quite the game, restart the Steam client and launch the game again". Restarting steam or rebooting the system did not change the behaviour. Tried with Proton 6.3-7, 5.13-6 and experimental. No tinkering done.
It either crashes with error or fails silently
Tried with default steamplay, experimental and 5.21-GE-1
In fullscreen, there was some mismatch between shown and position of mouse pointer, making it difficult to hit any button. No issue in windowed.
Game opened on second monitor, not able to move to main screen.
Runs OK, some minor issues
Sometimes any interaction with the environment stopped working (opening doors, accessing containers, ...). Most of the time opening/closing of inventory fixed it.
Some lags when running game on one screen with another screen present. No issues in single screen setup.
Works great with Proton
With the Linux native client, I had some stability issues caused by mods (starting native client without mods worked flawlessly). Tried the Windows client with Proton worked out of the box without any issues and with the same mod list.
Works out of the box, but very unresponsive controls
Frame rate is OK, but very sluggish controls, borderline unplayable
Unplayable due to constant switching between controller and k+m settings
Game flickers constantly between controller and keyboard+mouse settings. Whenever I move the mouse, it changes all UI constantly (e.g. one moment it has the X Apply, B Back for a controller, the next moment it has the buttons 'Apply changes', etc for mouse usage. This makes it virtually impossible to click anything, as I have to click multiple times in the hope that during my click the button is there.
In game it is unplayable as no matter what I do, the screen constantly rotates wildly (I guess the same switching happens, with the non-existing controllers screwing anything I might do with the mouse)
Works perfectly when not using joysticks
Any type of joystick connected or configured caused the game to rapidly switch between keyboard+mouse and gamepad configuration, making it unplayable (neither mouse nor joystick worked correctly, I don't have a gamepad).
Disconnecting joysticks and removing their configuration solved the issue for me.
Works out of the box, feels like native
Crashes to often
Own shots were not rendered.
Crashes often. no esync reduces the number, but still crashes multiple times per mission.
