Cannot start a new game, performance issues, having to use older proton
Can not start a new game, only load from saved games
Considerable frame drops when compared to Windows performance on the same PC
Game does not work on Proton 5, fails to create renderer. It works on Proton 4.
Completed the game, runs amazingly
Certain audio effects are missing, certain dialogue lines (only happened with two dialogue instances for me).
Radio music in cars and some enemy gunshot effects are also missing but only realized after reading it somewhere, going back and checking it indeed is the case.
Game does not recognize DualShock 4, shows prompts for Xbox One controller layout
Some frametime issues on certain areas of the map, though it could be a game bug
Finished the main story and did many side quests. The game is fully playable, it was a great experience, gonna replay a different route soon. Used GPU was RX 6800 XT, which shows as Sienna Cichlid.
Finished Death Stranding, definitely worth giving it a shot
When playing exclusively with controller and unplugged keyboard/mouse, a mouse cursor would sometimes appear in the middle of the screen, requiring me to connect mouse and move it for it to disappear
Some occasional engine crashes happened, but nothing too troublesome even if you don't do manual saves as the game autosaves every time you open a terminal
Apart from some occasional crashes, this game runs flawlessly, everything maxed out
Game is Playable
Game uses an old version of SDL2 that doesn't recognize DualSense controllers. To solve this, add the following line to 'gamecontrollerdb.txt' on the game's main folder:
030000004c050000e60c000000000000,PS5 Controller,a:b1,b:b2,back:b8,dpdown:h0.4,dpleft:h0.8,dpright:h0.2,dpup:h0.1,guide:b12,leftshoulder:b4,leftstick:b10,lefttrigger:a3,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,misc1:b13,rightshoulder:b5,rightstick:b11,righttrigger:a4,rightx:a2,righty:a5,start:b9,x:b0,y:b3,platform:Windows,
Got screen tearing while playing some video cutscenes, VSync being enabled did not help. Very rare though.
The game's launcher on the native version doesn't scale well with DPI, making the launcher impossible to use as all the elements are mangled. The windows' version launcher isn't DPI scaled but renders fine without zoom (should zoom properly on future Wine versions with proper DPI scaling).
This will eventually not require mf-install as Media Foundation is being implemented on Wine. Currently on Proton Experimental without mf-install the game doesn't hang anymore, but videos don't play correctly yet.
Ghostrunner Demo works perfectly
Played with keyboard and mouse with every setting maxed out except AA
Frequent crashing
Intro videos crackle, after getting to title screen it no longer happens, but it means you can't watch the intro video correctly.
Crashed twice on level 3, once right at the end after I had pressed X to get in the suit thing, and other in the middle of it while I was trying to replay. Using DirectX 11 mode. Other users have mentioned frequent crashing as well, so I would put this game at Silver.
The game doesn't save frequently. While it creates checkpoints frequently as you're playing, if you reenter the game it will put you at the beginning of the level you were playing, meaning you can't even resume from where you were if you crash.
Works perfectly
Worth giving it a try, it's a small game but a very cool experience
Works perfectly out of the box
It's a small RPG Maker game, works perfectly fine, finished the game

Two or three voice lines in the entire game didn't play while the characters mouths were moving in higher speed, I think it's a game bug and not exactly Proton related
Game window freezes when selecting the Exit Game option, requiring the game to be stopped from Steam
Works out of the box as it would in the originally targetted OS
Game doesn't have a VSync option. On Windows, you'd solve this by forcing VSync through the driver control panel, but on Linux you may not have such a thing, thus you need to create a dxvk.conf file on the game's root folder and add the following lines:
dxgi.tearFree = True
d3d9.tearFree = True
Doing so solves screen tearing without causing any other issues.

Played with all settings as Very High except Shadows set to High. Used Proton 7.0-4.
Game does not launch
The game does not open, seemingly requires manually installing extra dependencies through protontricks that Proton is not automatically handling right now.
Solid experience
Controller hotplugging doesn't work. After controller disconnects mid-game, you need to close the game and reopen it, and game doesn't take keyboard input in that scenario as well.
There's a game bug where some fight achievements won't unlock unless you're on Free Battle 1P vs 2P - this is a game bug and happens on Windows as well.
Very playable, had a great time!
Could be related to the graphics drivers and/or older GPU architecture. Tried both LLVM and ACO shader compilers on both Mesa 19.3 and Mesa 20, but sometimes there is very minor shader artifacting.
Played the game for 60 hours so far. In long gameplay sessions, the UE4 engine may crash when browsing the UI after playing for many hours straight. Very rare issue, only happened to me 3 times.
Install the "STEINS;GATE 0 Steam Patch" from https://sonome.dareno.me/projects/sg0-steam.html.
This is not required for the game to work, however the official localization is garbage, so you need this patch for the game to be an enjoyable read.
If you use this patch, you need to use Proton 5.0, as it won't work with Proton 5.13 at the moment.
Runs perfectly
Went in-game, saved and loaded, browsed unlocked messages, pictures and videos, no issues anywhere to be found, it just works perfectly
Controller support doesn't work, white screen without winecfg workaround
Game launches as a white screen without using protontricks, going on winecfg and enabling a virtual desktop with the same resolution as native.
However, even after solving the white screen issue, controller support doesn't work at all, while working completely fine on other games.
Works perfectly out of the box
Finished the game with no issues just like Octopath Traveler
Demo runs flawlessly
Note: This demo doesn't come with a settings menu, all settings are predefined by the game
The game works very well overall, don't forget the restoration patch
Already fixed in the next version of DXVK, can be worked around with d3d11.invariantPosition = True in a file called dxvk.conf inside the game's folder
End of Chapter 11 (transition between boss fight and cutscene) caused a deterministic softlock, reproduced 3 consecutive times.
Unsure if it's caused by Proton or something else, loaded the save on Windows, passed that part, saved and continued playing on Proton.
Unsure if the Chapter 11 softlock issue happens to everyone or not, haven't found any other reports of it so far. If you experience it, don't forget to report it here as well.
Requires d3d11.invariantPosition = True in a dxvk.conf file in the game folder until the next version of DXVK is released for certain GPUs such as RDNA2
Because video cutscenes don't play properly, can't recommend this to be listed as playable yet
Trying to use mf-install on Proton 6.3 won't work. Playing the game without mf-install on Proton 6.3 won't work. You need to specifically be using Proton 5.13 with mf-install.
Some video cutscenes play audio from other video cutscenes. If the audio is shorter than the cutscene, it will end the cutscene prematurely. I watched some of the cutscenes on YouTube instead.
Very minor and uncommon black flickering artifacts
If you're fine with watching some video cutscenes on YouTube, then you can play this fine. That's the only major issue as of right now.
Played the whole game on these specifications including the mini-games, ran flawlessly
If using an AMD GPU, using Valve's ACO shader compiler with env variable RADV_PERFTEST=aco
gives a nice performance increase
