So everything worked the way it should have right out the gate; aside from one C++ Runtime crash but after a quick restart it ran just fine again.
After putting some more time into the game, it seems to crash every so often at random. The C++ runtime error is the only thing that causes it. Other than that it operates nicely.
Haven't tried any tweaks or work arounds, game runs ok with some frame drops here and there that last a couple minutes. After about 25 minutes or so of playing the mouse cursor kept going up into the top left corner which basically made it unplayable.
Levels do not load
I was technically able to make it to the map/level select screens but the levels themselves would not load after selected. That being said, I was able exit the levels when using the pause menu and go back to the map/level select without issue.
I had the same issue as last time but actually got some play time in before the frames dropped. Frames only dropped after fast travel.
No tweaks were performed. The game plays at a somewhat solid 20 fps but has delayed inputs with commands from 360 controller and while wit won't stutter, it will consistently slow down when loading in new areas.
I'm going to say no because the issue gradually get's worse over time.
The game runs but it does not run smoothly, I've had the same hardware for a while now and it ran just fine on Windows. It get's really choppy after a while.
It does not run smoothly in any way, shape, or form.
On windows I had absolutely no issues running this game but over the past few years on Linux now, I cannot run it at all. The frame rate is nothing but choppy, even when disconnected from the servers it acts like it's lagging.
Everything about the gameplay is slow/laggy. The opening cut scene on the other hand runs like it should.
During the first area of the game it would run smoothly in certain parts of the game but then frames would drop significantly, it almost seems at random as well. By the time you get to the High Wall of Lothric it just will not get above 7 fps.
Cutscenes are still not playing
I'm still getting the hang of doing work arounds, some are simpler than others, this one is throwing me for a loop despite some of the rather detailed instructions. It'd be nice to not have to worry about installing a dll just to have the full game experience.
Tried running it in 4.2 first and it was horribly choppy even at lowest graphical setting. Switched to 4.11 and it was running really well at Very High graphical quality but Ultra was still a bit much. Had some rather atrocious frame drops when near water or in water.
Game acts like it launches and gives me a wine error.
Error reads as such; "D3D11CreateDeviceAndSwapChain FAILED with error (-2147467259). Please check your GPU is compatible with DirectX11.1. Also, if you're under Windows 7, please check you've installed Windows Platform Update."
This was also forced to run with a few different Protons and gave that error.
3rd or 4th mission, non loading assets/environment.
There is a point that I am currently at that in the game where it just does not load any of the environment aside from what seems to be the asset shadows.
After getting to the gameplay and upon entering the second area of the first mission, most of the background textures just load in as white. There are still physics, just no color or depth.
Didn't try any tweaks, the game would just straight up not refresh properly when trying to complete any sort of character customization action and randomly when in the middle of a conversation and during movement and it started working properly again while using shift+tab. I didn't even bother to try it during combat.
Audio missing after installing alsa tweak.
I used some of the tweaks and tricks to get the game to recognize the RealTone cable and that worked but after I did that the audio just completely disappeared. I've tried reinstalling it and only doing a few of the tweaks but I still get the same result after I get alsa working to recognize the cable.
During first cutscene fps drops
So when trying to start the campaign, during the first cutscene the fps will drop to 1 and the screen will load with what looks like test lines everywhere. Like it's trying to render and failing miserably.
Only assets loading is the ground to be walked on, player character, NPCs, and some parts of buildings.
After comparing the initial first cutscene with one I found on YouTube, I noticed that only about a quarter of the fixed assets are rendering at all and that is in the cutscenes and in gameplay.
Background and sound effect audio are missing.
Artifacts basically took place of all textures.
Frame rate was dropping at random as assets would not load properly during cutscene or gameplay.
Although the game seemed to play fine, it still is 40K and we all play these games for the story as well as the action.
I haven't played too far into the main story but the initial cutscene audio played while the video did not.
Haven't tried any tweaks, only tried to get SKSE to run in order to use SkyUI. With and without that though, the game would be almost unbearably choppy when panning/tilting the camera in first and third person. Despite that, everything seems to work.
Failed to initialize player
An error keeps popping up that says "Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics cared and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed."
Haven't performed any tweaks and the game runs fantastically, even with ultra graphics. The only reason I'm giving it gold is due to the fact that it's still a bit choppy during some cinematics and some combat.
Haven't done any tweaks. Video runs but has a great deal of choppiness especially during combat. Sounds are nonexistent.
