It's a hoot to play, and stays above 100 fps with Glorius eggroll Proton build 7-20. It's good with regular proton, but not as amazing as with the GE one.
Frames on my card are usually 144, but sometimes go down to the 90s.

My launch parameters give me a smoother and higher framerate experience
Smooth as silk! Great pings, no hiccups at all
Glorious Eggroll proton build + Nobara OS is just a freaking beast for gaming. Can't recommend it enough.
Everything on max, runs at 144 (my monitor's max) using latest GE. No issues at all that I can see. I did install Battleye for Proton
As others have said, install battle eye for proton as found in your library. It's a separate install. After that, you can probably launch with no issues. If it doesn't start right off the bat, might I suggest using the bleeding edge beauty that is Glorious Eggroll proton fork?
It works AMAZINGLY when it works... but I randomly will lose the ability to load and have to reinstall
I've been unable to figure out what is going on.. Fresh install, start up works fine OOB. Then randomly I go to log in and play and the load screen suddenly becomes impossible and crashes eventually. This is in solo-coop mode, so it isn't a "Server" side thing in the strictest sense.
IF you have a controller plugged in and do NOT use it - it causes my game to crash on loading a save!!! This note here is why I am making a 3rd report on this game. THIS was my core problem with a previou post.
I have 3 reports on this game out. I had it work, then not work. After literally hours of combing through logs and talking to people on discord I "found" a version of proton that worked... However, it was incidental - the reason it was working is I didn't have my controller plugged in. The moment I Do have that controller plugged in, it fails to load my save!! So if you experience this, please confirm that this is not your issue. Beyond that, it works better for my in linux now than it does in windows.
It's a solid 144 FPS for me, the limit of my monitor
Game runs smooth as silk on my rig. EoS does not stop me from playing. Zero issues so far.
Intro video looked weird.. but "played" smoothly, for what it is worth. But very psychodelic colors
once you are past the weird video intro, everything is flawless, near as I can tell.
Smooth as butter with my config and those starting parameters. It's amazing and literally better than windows

You need to have put the right commands into the launch, or it will run with low frames. Get the right ones for your card, though, and this thing is INCREDIBLY smooth.
Smooth 144 Fps on highest settings, no issues whatsoever.
I don't think you even need to have the command line string I added. I just like the frames I get when I do.

Flawless performance for me on linux

This is actually better than my windows installation now!
FINALLY, they added support. It runs better in linux than it does in windows, for me!
It is literally smoother here than on windows. 60 to 90 FPS constantly, fire makes no difference

If you have an AMD rig, use the launch string I've provided - I didn't even try without it, because it's so reliably good in games that can support it. Doing so, and I literally get NOTABLY better performance in linux than I do in windows.

wininet or whatever it is that proton tricks suggests for you. Absolutely required.
First game I've tried that required I used protontricks, but it absolutely fixes the issue.
Probably works without the command line I use, but it consistently gives me great results, so I default to using it.

Smooth as silk. Probably better than windows. It kept with my frame cap I put in there, no issues.
Flawless out of the box
No issues that I've found. Great to play on linux
Using the command line, I was over 200 fps at max graphics setting nearly non stop. Smoother in linux, for me, than it was in windows 10

Smooth as silk gameplay. Don't know why this is listed as "archive", but the game is platinum level compatibility
You can play it without any of the prefix stuff I put in there. But I went from 80-90 FPS to 120-144 fps when i did

In my first session (and only that one) I exited normally and it COMPLETELY lost my save. It was as though I hadn't played at all.

This game required me to re-validate so the anticheat would work after switching to GE Proton
Audio on proton experimental at time of writing this was pretty terrible and every time I would slide it would drop to 20 frames from 144! GE proton and THIS version of linux (nabaro linux - look it up, it's incredible and my new default OS) makes for a flawless run in this otherwise troublesome game.

It doesn't require tinkering - 60 fps without any changes. Changing launches gets me 144 though.
It plays well enough on just proton experimental to enjoy... I played hours of coop with a friend, in fact. Then I tested the latest GE at the time, and it removed ALL stuttering and in fact it now runs better for me in linux than it does in windows, no joke! I'm getting 130 FPS+, max settings, using FSR with one step down
