Fun game runs like native
gamemoderun %command%
Great and challenging typing game
Disregard my previous report, works perfectly fine now on Proton 8.
PS: If you notice you cannot make screenshots, its normal. It has the same bug on Windows.
Framerate drops make it unplayable
Framerate drops while typing, which also causes the game to drop inputs. This only happens during boss fights.
You encounter significant slowdowns that it makes the game barely enjoyable
Typing fast or on controller mode will lower fps
If playing on gamepad, game becomes significantly easier because of lower fps in general (easier to evade bullets and type the inputs at the same time).

slowdown while typing
tested on proton experimental, 7.0-4 and 6.3-8; game runs fine but significant slowdown/fps drop while typing
While everything works perfectly, it does mostly work with the controller options which does miss out on the typing aspect of the game. But that's more an issue with the game than the deck itself.
Unplayable, the game has so much slowdown during fights that it's impossible to play.
Whenever you start typing the game freezes for 0.5s per letter.
Finished game with input lag
Input lag, probably due to the 30 FPS lock limited typing to 3-4 chars / second
Not sure if input lag is proton specific.
Runs like native.
Occasionally crashes when loading into new areas, but otherwise as native
Sometimes crashes when loading into a new area. Can result in re-playing some levels.
Doesn't properly support Steam cloud saves. Manual backup is required if playing on multiple devices.

Frame rate drops on every character press during action make it mostly not an enjoyable experience.
Significant lag on every character press, frame time and frame rate drops when typing make it unplayable during the action.
Fequent Crashes make it unplayable
Lags hard / completely freezes for a few seconds every minute or so
Unable to Play, crashes every few minutes
I could not notice any slowdown, bugs, or other bad behavior by running the game with proton
You have to cap your typing speed at a certain level in order to bypass frame drops and input drops.
Input dropped.
Typing too quickly will result in massive frame drops, and, after a certain point, it will also drop input, meaning you will start failing characters even if you type them correctly. It would be far more playable if it didn't drop input and only froze.
I use GNOME 41 and forced composition pipeline with my GPU. Adding PROTON_USE_WINE3D11=1 %command% to the launch options as one user suggested (though this is likely outdated at this point) didn't change anything.
About 0.1 or 0.2s of input latency between each character type, which is very bad because it's a typing game
Played through the game once without any issues.
Works perfectly fine out of the box

Set Launch Options to "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" - runs quite slowly during typing attacks

Run perfecty out of the box

As native.
