shading looks bad even at max graphics, shadows not present
Night Vision helmet does not work, rendering the game unplayable past the room where you obtain it
Works great, incl. workshop addons. Unfortunately unplayable for me past the night vision helmet area.
P.S. did not have those bugs on Arch Linux PC
How's this "playable"?
No character model in main menu.
Keyboard do not respond.
Bugged mess. Fiddled with it for hours, no success. Had to ask for a refund.
setxkbmap -layout us -model pc105 && gamemoderun %command% ; setxkbmap -layout us,latam -variant dvorak, -model pc105 -option "grp:win_space_toggle"
Interestingly for its silver
rating, my experience has been flawless so far...
Dropped refresh rate to 45hz
Controls were a bit hard to get used to for my smooth brain
No issues to report
Works just as expected. Workshop content also functions as expected.
Plays perfectly at max settings with plenty of battery life
A few specific rooms always cause performance dips, but they're minor and barely noticeable.
Runs fine had a few crashes
Ran in slow motion on one occasion
Crashed twice
Gamepad Camera/Movement would drift about initially (similar to an inaccurately calibrated joystick), easily fixed by waggling control sticks.
Seems there was an issue due to how different Video Drivers handle certain variables.

You need Mesa 20.2.2 or newer
Non responsive menu in fullscreen
Remove the registry entries like other rm ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/*.reg
Did the .reg tweak as previously mentioned. The game doesn’t suffer from any slowness and run pretty well out of the bunch.
Doesn’t work with 5.11_GE_3_MF-1 with a :
hdInit: failed````error.
Loads for half a second then crashes completely
I removed the .reg files as recommended, however they reappear as soon as you try again.
Start game (it hangs) ||| Forcefully close game ||| CLOSE STEAM (VERY IMPORTANT) ||| rm ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/*.reg ||| Restart/play game and enjoy with no issues
The game launches and loads into the menu just fine. The menu is frozen once it loads and crashes ~2 seconds after.
Deleting .reg files did not work despite multiple attempts.
crashes after showing the menu
deleting the .reg files like suggested by others did not work for me
Had to delete files and rerun support software installs
As everyone else has commented, I had to delete the .reg files in the relevant steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/ and let Steam/Proton rebuild them and reinstall the support software again. After that, it ran quite nicely, for the short period after that I ran it.
Crashes right after the startup loading screen
I tried deleting the .reg files but Steam keeps reinstalling them… I don’t know what to do to prevent that.
I can confirm the game will indeed crash at startup unless you delete all(3) .reg files at "(your steamapps path)/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/". After that, it runs like native.
Note: The game is 32 bit and can only allocate 4gbs of memory. It also loads literally everything at launch so if you install mods and it won't start, then you installed too many mods. The only solution is to remove some (likely the larger) mods. This is not a Proton problem, this is a Haydee problem. IE, it happens in windows, too.
After the installation and unsuccessful launch of the game, you must close the steam and delete the .reg files located in the game prefix located in:
"~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/"
FPS is stable, but the gameplay is very slow. Very similar to the slow motion effect.
Still borked
Still borked, but at least I see for 5 seconds the main menu and then the game crashes. If I delete the mentioned files, I can here a sound very short before the crash, but that's it.
As reported by other users, you must delete the * .reg files located in:
"~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/"
or (if you installed Steam via flatpak)
"~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/"
Restart Steam and open the game.

the tweak previously reported of deleting the .reg files is the fix for those who get in the menu but have no audio and freeze upon hovering on other submenus. the game is now perfectly playable begining to end and its workshop mod support is totally uncompromised, however, there's a small inconvenience where the game doesn't scale resolutions below the native resolution of the desktop and stays as a black screen.
As noted in another report deleting the *.reg files located in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/ helped getting this game to run.
I had to quit steam and load steam again. Haven't had any trouble since.
UPDATE: It seems the problem everyone is having is OpenAL can't initialize the sound. If there is no sound and you attempt to move around the menu the game freezes.
While I'm certain a registry fix is all that's needed, I found out (at least with OpenSUSE) you can start the game by deleting the *.reg files located in:
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/530890/pfx/
Then run any program that makes sound/music/etc then close it.
Then rerun Haylee again so that it can reinstall the needed dependencies again and you should hear the game music afterwards. If you do then the game will continue to work from now on.
If it don't work (no sound/freezes) you may have to repeat the process a couple of times, but for now this is the only way I was able to get the game to play.
Very odd - Like everyone else the game crashes in the menu, but after I ran the Game Editor (it crashes) I re-ran Haydee and it's been running fine without any hickups ever since. I've also updated my Proton to 4.2-5 if that helps. Most of the addons I've downloaded aslo worked. Another thing to note was the controller. When the game initially starts, only the controller buttons work, so you still have to use KB/M to navigate the menu, but once you're in the game, you can freely use the controller for everything including the menus.
It is still borked, but at least I see for 5 seconds the main menu and then the game crashes.
Had to run through Lutris with DXVK enabled but runs flawlessly. Outfits also work without issue.
Game starts, then freezes at menu. Just like everyone else.
Still borked
Using Proton 4.2.1-1 from AUR, through Lutris with DXVK enabled.
Still, borked, still crashes moments after showing the main menu.

Launches into the main menu but crashes on interaction with the menu.
