Mouse heavy game!
This game is very heavy on the mouse movement, so you would want to have your trackpad handy. Otherwise, finding a good controller layout is the next step. Ran just fine without issue otherwise.
No issues*
Major lighting artifacting effecting gameplay progression.
The game out of the box suffers from heavy lighting artifacts that will effect game progression to new players (players who don't know where to go or what to do).
There is a easy fix!
In the game settings go to "Options > Video > Overall Quality" and change from the default "Potato" to at least "Low". I changed it to "Medium" This will fix lighting artifacts.
Otherwise, no further issues.
Newest update borked the game i ndefault settings. Downgrade to Proton version 6.3-8. Everything works perfectly fine.
Strange audio playing in strange places. May be a problem with the game itself and not Proton.
Worked just fine with 5.0-7. Absolutely no issues running on a multi screen monitor.
The game launches and loads into the menu just fine. The menu is frozen once it loads and crashes ~2 seconds after.
Deleting .reg files did not work despite multiple attempts.
Very Good!
Occasional studdering on level loading. Last for less than a second.
Plays just like it did all of those years ago.
Works just fine, not optimized for this hardware.
Nothing you can't read, but you do need to smudge your face against the screen to read the text clearly.
The game ran perfectly fine on the Steam Deck, however I reduced the quality to the lowest available and only made out with a maximum of 40 FPS. I had to make a custom controller scheme to get all of the funcationality out of the game. (Available via Community Layouts)
Very good!
Reduced frame rate to Cap at 30 FPS
On some puzzles and documents, it becomes hard to read.
This game is a battery drainer. Otherwise no issues!
This should be Deck verified
Lowered FPS to a cap of 30
By default Gyro support is not enabled, you can enable it by setting "Gyro" to Joystick. Everything is mapped to Xbox controls, and plays perfectly with them. Everything important has a dedicated button for it, including the barbed wire!
