Needs to replace the ACM.exe with a free-drm ACM.exe to start and play the game.

Runs perfect fine, only problem is that it doesn't keep fullscreen after restarting/re opening the game.

If the game refuses to start(blank screen).
Well using normal Proton your game will hang after the tutorial (Video Scene), but if you skip the game plays as it should.
To watch the video tutorial you should use the GloriousEggroll or install wmp11.
No, this game runs like crap, I didn't try on windows but on linux it sux.
Missing textures

Textures load very slowly load, low fps, runs like crap.
Have to replace the Obscure.exe with a the Obscure.exe provide by gog
First you need to download the Obscure.exe and Settings.exe
You can download from my google drive or buy the game again from gog to get those .exe files (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qLAx-vEC1SsQl0aUgVVkixhVZ9VA1rxO/view?usp=sharing)
Extract Obscure.exe and Settings.exe inside the folder /steamapps/common/Obscure/ (replace the file Obscure.exe)
And then you need to rename cachpack.hvp to datacach.hvp
Launch the game it should display wine explorer, execute the "Settings.exe"
The movies(Cutscenes) won't play unless you extract the kinepack.hvp using the tool(unhvp.exe) and put it content inside the folder data/_videopc/

cutscenes doesn't work at all.
Well, using the GloriousEggroll ver. > "Proton-6-14-GE-2", the game plays its cutscenes and everything works perfect.

Had to install WMP11: protontricks 21690 -q wmp11
GPU usage too low(around 30-20) = poor fps. Funny thing is that on the benchmark it uses it full potential. I tried changing the config.ini but without successes.
First thing before starting the game edit " .../steamapps/common/Resident Evil 5/BH5AE_install.vdf" and remove the lines:

And then download bh5fixes.(It removes GFWL from RE5): "http://www.sb-online.org/maluc/index.php?did=bh5fixes" and unzip the contents to " .../steamapps/common/Resident Evil 5/"
Start the game. Quit the game. (Just click on steam: STOP)
Install: protontricks 221040 -q wmp11
And you are done.
Well, i had problems performances issues with maluc patch, so i tried another workaround with xlive.dll
protontricks 21690 -q wmp11 + xlive.dll
Same method as before but you don't use "maluc patch" instead you download xlive.dll(https://www.dll-files.com/xlive.dll.html) and put it inside the RE5 folder. Now my fps don't go down like before the are stable at 120fps all the time.
Crashes after the first cutscene
Tried custom and Steam Version none worked.
After searching a lot I found out that if you are runing a "non-systemd" you must change Esync value.
Solution: edit : /etc/security/limits.conf and add those lines:
username hard nofile 524288
(Change username to your actual username and than reboot)
Now everything works perfect.
Runs perfectly out of the box on ultra settings same experience as in windows.
I was able to restore my saved game from windows and play with that.
They fixed the alt+tab problem, but the game now have some stuttering that wasn't there before the update.
Almost Perfect
The game freezes when you try to exit game. (Same happens on Windows)
