Not sure what's causing the hard crash and reboot but switching proton versions around did not help.
The game installs and launches fine. Going through the menus works as expected, but it crashes after some time in game. Hard crash that turns my screen green before completely rebooting.

Aside from the "bugs" the game itself has (which is part of the games charm, none of them harmful) everything went seamless.

gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Occasionally the game drops 10 to 20 fps.
Perfect performance

Even with the occasional slow downs, the game still works flawlessly and I haven't experienced any of the audio problems others have mentioned with the tweaks that I've done.
Perfect with Proton 8.0-5
Beim Starten den Spiels kommt die Fehlermeldung " Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime"

Worked great, played the entire campaign with no issues
Install, hit play - nothing to see here
Something about epic
It wanted to install something about epic games and i let it do. When I click on play, it gives a crash report about unreal engine for a fraction of a second then closes.
Some patience required to redefine a lot of controls. Works fine after that. Not ideal due to default controls but playable.
Changed a lot of controls because the defaults are awful.
MSVC++ installer pops up but can be clicked to accept
Not the most optimized game, but it runs fine apart from that.
pretty sure i'm getting less fps than i did on windows, but still playable if you reduce graphics quality.
The controls are functionally horrible for the game. Even with the recommended community controls it is nearly impossible to play.
Game is only verified because it technically runs. It does however have horrid controls.

every now and then it'll hiccup for a sec or get a tad framey before catching back up
Be sure to feed Gustave
Despite being Verified, the game opens to a dialog box prompting to install "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime", which immediately kicks back to Steam menu whether you select Yes or No...
Finished game without issues
UE4 Error both in normal and DX11 modes
Game crashes on startup with a UE4 bugreport blinking in and out after.
Works well. I had no issues.
Definitely not one to play on the steam deck until the developer fixes the control methods. Seems like the dev is aware of the issues
40fps/40hrz
Mission objective and most in-game text was very small
Steam says that full steam deck inputs are shown, this is not the case. Many menus are inoperable on deck and you cannot close mandatory story popups rendering the game unplayable
Devs seen to be aware of the issues via game forums on steam
Flickering textures on walls when viewed at certain angles.
Slight fps dips, but that may be the game as a whole.
Performance issues seem to be the game itself from what I've seen, flickering wall textures are the only issue on proton to my knowledge. Overall very playable, flickering only occurs at point blank range at certain angles.
Used the default compatibility and there was no sound. Used Proton 7.0-2 and sound works fine.
Occasional massive short-term FPS drop, but it comes good. Got a consistent 50+ FPS with 3080Ti
With GE-Proton7-10 everything works fine. With Proton 7.0-1, some videos in the game don't seem to work. However, the game is still playable.
Terrible performance
Compared to windows where i could run graphics maxed with about 90fps, under proton best i could do was medium settings. High detail ran at 20-30fps
Unless you're fine with MS paint graphics, not really an enjoyable experience.

Because of the framerate drop you can't do exact movements with the mouse pointer.
Runs fine for about 5 minutes then gets massive drop of framerate which makes it almost unplayable.
The inventory bug make the game unplayable
Can't use inventory (using tab key)
Save games disappear very often
Works out of the box.
Crashes occasionally, but based upon reviews this happens even with Windows players, so this is likely due to game stability in general rather than Proton.
Nothing wrong game runs at 40-60FPS which is acceptable given my hardware (running on highest settings 1440p)
Game doesn't start after last team update 2021-10-08

Audio was missing when trying to run the game with the default version of proton. This is the reason I switched to 4.11-13. With this version the audio worked but it may have been the cause for some of the other issues.
I tried newer versions (major 5 and 6), but all of them suffered from serious performance degradations, even on the main menu (though they had audio).
All of these problems were consistent when trying the demo and the prologue, so if you're worried I'd give those a go.
Occasional miscoloration of various surfaces on the screen.
Every time I'd reload a save my trashcans would be full. Probably just the game being jank though. 🤷
Sometimes the game would slow to a crawl. Usually after a few hours of play. Unsure if related to proton/linux as it could easily be the game itself.
Occasionally it would just CTD. :( Still enjoyed the game tho, wierdly enough.
Some FPS issues meanwhile long play session, but full featured gameplay and 100% experience.
After long time play session, the FPS is constantly decrease. 3-4 hours of play means ~20-30 FPS.
The game does not start
stick to mouse and keyboard and you should be fine.
the shelves are supposed to have text, mine don't. not really sure why they don't, there isn't a graphical option that should effect that.
It detected my XB1 controller and you can use it to play the game, mostly. Some of the tasks are just broken with a controller, meaning you cannot do those tasks. Like order supplies or repair a car door.
Game is a bit buggy. Proton 6.36 is very buggy, experimental is better atm. It's playable, just don't think you're going to zip around.
The game has been out for about a week or two, I would be surprised if the game doesn't get optimized from both the developer and proton some more.

Assuming the full game is not much different from the demo, everything should work just fine.
I had no problem with background music like someone else mentioned.

unless you care a lot about in-game music, mini games are fun to play
audio is completely muted
Tested demo version since full or early access is not available yet
