when framerate drops audio will crackle too
in some places framerate just drops and it will drop when killing monsters but well game is made with unity so its not suprise for me.
Getting stuck way too often. pro tip keep crouch as toggle then you wont get stuck everywhere
i tried proton 9.0-4 and proton-cachyos but feels like its working best on ge proton
I can't use Alt-Tab, so I had to switch Virtual Desktop as workaround.

Pretty poor performance with major frame drops in some places, but I would still call it "playable"

It has major performance issues in some places, but it's playable anyway
Game drops frames really hard in a few places (not many, but a few). Sometimes I had to lower my screen's resolution to make it playable again.
It could crash when changing graphics settings

Great game, performance issues
Certain areas will chug, down to 30 or below frames. I don't know if it's a CPU issue (there is a bottleneck) or if just poor optimization, but I have no problems otherwise running at 70+ frames on average.
It's fixed now, but for some reason (after plugging in a controller) I wasn't able to use anything in my inventory (no buttons worked, mouse, controller, or using keyboard).
The game for the most part runs pretty well, though there are noticeable performance issues. I've only run into the occasional bug so that's not much of an issue, and I don't know if it's a CPU issue (or that and an optimization issue) so take this with a grain of salt.
Extreme stuttering, including on low overall quality

Wine-GE 8-14
Needs to be opened in desktop mode the first time
Launch in desktop mode the first time if you own it on Epic, a window will pop up and click allow.

Tried all versions listed in steams compatability list.
unplayable, the game had 1 fps and movements were a standstill mess of stutter
The dev confirmed it does not have Linux support on nov 9th, I tested it and it was unplayable because of the low fps so u cant move. Dev says it should work on steam deck tho.

Reported previously that the game didn't work for me. I decided to try again, with GE_proton8-23, and now the game works without issues.

Works mostly fine, slight performance issues.
I did experience heavy stutters when loading into the game initially and occasionally throughout the game. Not sure if it is due to Proton since I've read similar issues from Windows users in the Steam forums. While they occur occasionally, it generally ran fine.
Outside of the occasional perf issues listed prior, I had no other problems playing the game from beginning to end. Once or twice I had a full system lock up but I think it was due to OBS running alongside the game since it never occurred if OBS wasn't running.
Great game
Pretty much the best experience with playing games on Proton I've had so far. Game crashed once when my computer went to sleep but that's it.
Game drop fps a lot, even with low and 720p (I did switch my proton to 7.0-5)
After clear the toy area, the game start to freeze then crash
Seem like this it the problem is the game itself, not proton
Even at the very lowest settings I struggled to reach even 60fps
GE-Proton fixed intro videos.

Doesn't work
Tried the EGS version. When starting the game I only get a black screen. Tried several Proton, Proton-GE and Wine-GE versions, but no dice. mf-install didn't help either.
If you don't mind the occasional stutter (might not even be proton, but just the game) it works without any problems.
Videos will not play. Only effects intro logos though.
occasional stuttering
Medium settings 40hz seems to run 15-20w.
Minor stuttering transitioning some areas
Some slowdowns in some areas especially when using the mirror shard, when the in-game config is left as it-is.
Overall good except poor performance at a short segment
Allen tape (Part 2) there is poor performance during a ship storm/rain segment
As of writing (about 70% completition) the game has worked well with Proton. However there has been a segment in Allen tape (part 2), on a freight ship and it is raining that the performance tanks. It is luckily a approx 5-10 minute segment of exploration and no action, so it was not game breaking. But I lowered GFX settings to get comfortably past it.
Stuttering on initial startup videos?
Alt-Tab spells DOOM!
Random but sustained drops in FPS. Comes back to normal after a few minutes, even without moving or looking around. No HDD activity. CPU and GPU usage remains steady during slow down. Mildly frustrating.
It takes a while on Proton GE. On official Proton it does not launch at all
Works on Proton-GE, does NOT work on official Proton. Also enabled "Use the Unity full-screen workaround" in Linux steam integration package (however, I don't think it matters)
Works perfectly with Proton GE. No issues. With stock Proton, opening video shows color bars, but probably otherwise fine.
Proton GE 6.21.GE_2

Still not working fine
The game crashes when i star playing.
The main menu drops until 10 fps. When I access to options menu and change resolution or texture quality the game crashes.
I probe the game with proton 6.3.8, experimental and Proton-6.21-GE-2 and I had the same error.

Proton-6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
The game works very well, 18 hours without a crash. I had some stutters here and there but nothing serious. I guess this was more the lack of optimizations of the game itself.
black screen after alt+tab but game is working
Performance much lower than on my more older notebook ( msi gs65 with 1060maxq).

Poor performance, otherwise fine.
Playing on 1440p. high settings, I only got around 20-30fps. Looking at mirrors turned the game into a slideshow. My 8 GB of VRAM were always fully occupied. GPU utilization was low (GPU fans stayed suspiciously quiet). Given that my hardware is far above the recommended specs and the graphics are not very detailed, there must be something wrong with Proton support of this game.
