Excellent. No problem, besides no way of leaving the fullscreen, or minimizing the game itself, without quitting.
Once you exit fullscreen, the game stops, and you have to restart it.
It used to run flawlessly, then the following message appeared: "Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed". Running with "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" fixes it.
Runs without errors after kernel update
After minimizing and going back, the game turns completely black, making it unplayable.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
It works well, but it stutters a bit. Env PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 fixes it.
After the splash screen, there's nothing
I start the game, the splash screen opens, I click on "start" and bam, the splash screen closes and I have nothing. I tried running with Proton and had other problems. :/
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% -high -noeac -unlockfps -framefixunbounded
-noeac was needed for it to open. EAC was breaking with "Failed to initialize dependencies."
Game doesn't open
When I click play, Steam tries to load it, but it fails. Steam logs show a possible Wine error.
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0000000000000000 at address 0000000140B905BC (thread 0118), starting debugger... PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Extremely laggy out of the box. Running with env PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 fixed it.
Basically copied steps from jeis93's review:
- Edit
<PathToFallGuys>/FallGuys_client.ini
and change the first line to beTargetApplicationPath=FallGuys_client_game.exe
. - Copy
<PathToFallGuys>/EasyAntiCheat/easyanticheat_x64.so
to folder<PathToFallGuys>/FallGuys_client_game_Data/Plugins/x86_64/
.
Didn't work out of the box. jeis93's review helped me out.
Can't play due to "Easy Anti-Cheat not initialized"
As everyone said, Easy Anti-Cheat prevents you from playing.
Just needs to install Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime (search for it in your library) and it works fine.
Just needs to install Proton EasyAntiCheat (search for it in your library) and it runs fine.
Too many bugs
Nothing
Without PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 it doesn't even open. With it, it's just a black screen with a soundtrack.
Didn't open
It didn't open. It doesn't work as native, nor with any Proton version, including GE.
Process stops and nothing happens
I start it, and some seconds later it just stops. I tried multiple launch options, multiple Proton versions (including GE), and nothing changes.
Besides for the resolution, it works completely fine
On fullscreen, the game didn't the monitor's resolution
I played on a notebook with an external monitor with a bigger resolution. For some reason, while the window is on the monitor, the game followed the notebook's resolution, and filled the rest of the screen with black borders. Not sure what's that, but besides it, I could play it with no problems.
Proton throws error; native doesn't even open
Running as native doesn't even open the game, and I have no idea why. Running it while forcing a Proton version (doesn't matter which) breaks with this message:
Can't find background image 'materials/console/background01.vtf' I tried messing around a bit but with no success. Solutions I found online didn't help either.
Does not work
Trying to run it as native makes the game stop seconds after clicking "play". Using any Proton version (including GE) opens a completely black window and a popup with the following error:
Can't find background image 'materials/console/background01.vtf'
The number in the filename (e.g. 01) actually varies. The only related resource I found was 1, but it didn't help. Adding the "-vulkan" parameter changes the errors to:
Failed to create D3D device! Please see the following for more info. http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=772
Couldn't get beyond that point.
The whole system was really slow.
Laggy has hack.
Native version didn't work. I had to force Proton experimental for it to run. Even though I could play it, it slowed down the whole system for no reason at all.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV %command%
Env was necessary for it to open.
Can't play it
eval $(echo "%command%" | sed "s|2KLauncher/LauncherPatcher.exe' -steam_auto_login|Base/Binaries/Win64Steam/CivilizationVI.exe'|")
Running it native (and with any Proton besides GE) simply shows the following message:
An unrecoverable error has occurred, and Civilization VI cannot continue.
Running it with Proton GE opens the 2K launcher, but breaks when actually executing the game with:
Assertion failed! Program: Z:\home...\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI.exe File: ../src-wine/dlls/winevulkan/loader_thunks.c Line: 2787 Expression: "!status && "vkCreateImage"" Press OK to exit the program, or Cancel to start the Wine debugger.
Unhandled Exception Code: Unknown Exception type Call Stack ??? ! ??? ???, line 0
So yeah, no idea.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Doesn't open without env PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Doesn't work without the env var.
Stuck at the menu, I can't even get to the game
I can't control the menu window nor click on anything, any click falls through to the window behind it.
Buggy and laggy as hell
Buggy and laggy as hell
Buggy, unstable, and for some reason consumed all of my PC's resources (which aren't great, but anyway).
