[CPEx] MotoFckr9k
Published
Performance bad, 1 - 68 FPS. Settings don't seem to matter much. Need to play on a non-official server without BattleEye to play online.
Performance is kinda bad, but I don't know if that is Proton or ATLAS. ...probably just atlas...
Game crashes when reading a treasure map. Not sure if that is a problem with Proton or Atlas. I guess I will just try to have my mates read the maps. It also crashed when trying to connect to a BattleEye server.
Crashes after the first ~10 sentences.
"d3d9.deferSurfaceCreation = True" made it crash with a blackscreen rather than whitescreen.
If you are okay with initial loading and stutters when loading new content, this runs fine. Performance is okay on the Valve Index as well.
PROTON_LOG=1 "/media/motofckr9k/EffolenaMKII/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Proton 5.0/proton" waitforexitandrun /home/motofckr9k/com3d2inm_adult_update_dlc/update.exe && echo %command% >/dev/null
Windowed mode fixes not being able to alt-tab
Stuttering when loading in content and very long loading till the main menu.
Installing the official adult patch worked fine. (needs a new save though which is intended)
The good old stuttering when loading new content, but otherwise performance actually seems like it is potentially better than on windows.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
I had to disable ray tracing, since my system would lock up otherwise.
Audio stutter. Was able to work around this using PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
. Works on Pipewire as well.
Game runs perfect on standard (high) settings. Only outgoing voicechat does not work.
Sending voice chat does not work. Incoming voice chat does work.
Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.21-GE-1
Game freezes sometimes shortly after starting and sometimes after playing for a couple of minutes
I was only able to get the game to run on Proton 5.0-10 as installing dotnet472 wasn't easily possible on newer version.
Runs after installing corefonts, vcrun2012 and dotnet472 via protontricks
vsync is stuck on
server list does not load
Have not tried multiplayer yet
Installed corefonts, vcrun2012 and dotnet472
Server list doesn't work. Connection to server is very laggy which makes is extremely hard to fly ships and very frustrating to do anything in them.
Runs perfect. No crashes, good performance (not sure how it is compared to Windows)
Runs as good as on windows with "-opengl" as launch option. Vulkan has big performance issues.
Both OpenGL and Vulkan performance was basically unplayable.
The crashes just completely break the immersion. The fact that the game takes like 5 minutes to boot up also doesn't help.
Game doesn't start in fullscreen. I need to change to fullscreen on every launch.
Game crashes randomly. Sometime after a couple of minutes, sometimes I can play for over an hour before it crashes.
I tried
“-ignorepipelinecache” as launch option (as suggested by Rockstar themselves)
Replaced “sga_vulkan_*” files with write only 0 byte files (found under “/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1174180/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings/“)
like suggested bellow, but that hasn't fixed the crashes.
Runs better than on windows for me. Only the video on the landing screen is missing. (Which displays only once when you start a new game)
Just shows an empty window when started and nothing on the HMD. Tried with an without various options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 PROTON_NO_D3D10=1 PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1
Game runs out of the box. After pressing play in the launcher, I needed to close the launcher; The game launched immediately after that. Performance is alright. Stuttering while new stuff is loading in, but framerates are good. Game ran smooth on supposedly highest settings on 1440p.
Game doesn't install. After adding "-i GUI" it stops between 97 and 100%. Opting into or out of steam client beta makes no difference.
Audio stutters during load. (E.g. during shader compilation.)
Bright blue orb randomly appears in the middle of the screen.
Game runs slightly slower than on my Windows machine, which has lower specs.
Regular deadlocks (black screen) after leaving the first village. These do not occur on my Windows machine.
What works: Desktop- and VR-mode a good amount of avatars all worlds i have tested (only 4) audio (microphone as well) gamepad
What doesn't work: Some avatars are not displayed correctly. The problem is somehow linked to the avatars, but it isn't just the shader used as the same shader works on other avatars. Crashes when joining certain instances (other instances of the same world work) This might also be linked to a bug in VRChat that does the same thing in a lot less frequently.
Tweaks: Needed to use startoption "-show-screen-selector" and set graphics mode to DesktopLow to not crash after certain amount of time.
Performance: The performance is really good. I wasn't able to see any worse performance that on windows. If anything the performance was better.

Version 399 had a lot of things not render and crashed frequently. Version 415 renders everything for me and only crashes when using VR. Performance: The performance is really good. Needs Vulkan development drivers on Nvidia to not crash randomly (https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver). Also steam/steamapps/common/VRChat/VRchat_Data/StreamingAssets/youtube-dl.exe needs to be replaced with an empty file, or VRChat will crash when trying to load a video player. This file gets overwritten on every update even when it is write protected. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Performance is almost as good as on windows. Works fine in VR.
Game runs out of the box. Controller works fine. Performance is not acceptable for me; between 21 and 29 fps according to Steam. Disabling esync, falling back to directx9, using opengl instead of vulkan did not help.

Performance ingame is unplayable. Menu and stuff are fine
Game is basically unplayable, with and without esync.
24-30 fps on Operation Northern Cross (first mission) Mouse movement sluggish
Runs out of the box on proton 4.2-9 for me, but does not start on proton 4.11-2. Music and voices do not work. Game runs reliable and very high performant. (I get around 240 fps with no stutter)
