Runs great! Just don't even alt tab out or you'll have to restart the game
game works 100% fine untill you alt-tab out, then the resolution gets messed up and shifted off screen.
doesnt start at all
game not updated since over 1 year.. i dont think it will work any time soon.. garbage and abandond
Seems to work great out of the box, even multiplayer
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
The 64x Update for the experimental branch has allowed me to run the game almost perfectly.
Crashes when exiting Warp 1.
Could get into main menu and as far as faction selection. On Multi I get a disconnection and starting a single player game I get a crash.
Proton 5.11-GE-3-MF
crashes saying amd gpu drivers are outdated
had to use protontricks to install vcrun2012 and dotnet472 and use proton 5.0-10 to make it even display anything, even then it refuses to launch properly due to being unable to detect drivers trying to spoof an nvidia gpu using dxvk.conf dxgi.customDeviceId = 1C81 dxgi.customVendorId = 10DE did nothing
Installed corefonts, vcrun2012 and dotnet472
Server list doesn't work. Connection to server is very laggy which makes is extremely hard to fly ships and very frustrating to do anything in them.
I was only able to get the game to run on Proton 5.0-10 as installing dotnet472 wasn't easily possible on newer version.
Runs after installing corefonts, vcrun2012 and dotnet472 via protontricks
vsync is stuck on
server list does not load
Have not tried multiplayer yet
Completely borked. Tinker didn't work
Tried installing dotnet472 and vc2015 as per other tinker reports. Didn't launch at all. Couldn't find any logs that could give more info.
Latest GE, but may not have mattered. Had to install dotnet472 and vcrun2015 to get it running. Using Nvidia driver 450.66. Settings seemed to save OK with my copy.
Nothing happens after pressing play. Just straight Proton and updated drivers.
Could not find the suggested apps in any of my default Repos.
Following other comments here I installed dotnet472 and vcrun2015
Changes to the Ingame settings (like resolution and refresh rate) won't be saved. You have to manually change them in the config File.
Therefore go to your Steam wine prefix folder ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/[Steam Game ID]/pfx/
and inside this navigate to
drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/InterstellarRift
.
There you should find a file called Config.json
.
Open it with your prefered editor and change ScreenWidth
, ScreenHeight
and ScreenRefreshRate
to your liking.
Plublic server won't be listed.
crashes on startup after installing dotnet48 and vcrun2015
Requires vcrun2015, dotnet48 (dotnet472 wasnt enough anymore), but still complains about crashes and recommends updating GPU drivers. maybe nvidia users will have more luck, or maybe I'm just missing some library or other.
Didn't even look like it started
I've not tried any tinkering since I'm not that interested in spending a bunch of time getting this to run.
As suggested I have installed vcrun2015 and dotnet472, the game seem to run fine. I didn't have time for the moment to play more to test, but I was able to start a solo game without problem.
The application will now run on an nvidia graphics card. I can get it to run on my gtx 960 after using winetricks to install vcrun2015 and dotnet472, but using an AMD rx580 on my other system will not allow the application to run, it still pops up with the graphics driver error. As far as i can tell most of the features in the game will work. I have built a couple ships and have been able to use all of the ship components so far. I also was able to host a multiplayer game and connect to it using the GTX 960 computer, but since the RX 580 system did not work i could not confirm if i could connect to it with another computer.
The application will start if dotnet472 is installed using winetricks, but the application will hang at or before the start menu, while the music plays int eh background, and will display an error message reading "The drivers for your (INSERT GRAPHICS CARD) are over a year old, consider updating them. It might fix crashes like this one.)"
The game fails to launch, and has no error message.
The game does not start.
The steam "preparing to launch" window appears, then closes. The game does not open at all.
