Locked game at 720p.
Game randomly stutters during weapon fire.
Attempted 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%' but didn't fix the audio.
Audio doesn't work period.
Game works without audio (not sure what changed since the last time I tried opening the game). WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command% doesn't fix anything.
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Information menus can sometimes get stuck on screen.
Closes instantly.
Tried Proton Experimental, 6.3-8, and the last two GE versions.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1
Pausing when the FPS is low can cause the audio to not stop when the game is paused. So if Freddy is talking and you pause, he would finish his sentence before stopping.
Changing between fullscreen/windowed can crash the game sometimes.
Playing at 720p or higher cuts FPS to 20-30. Have to use 480p to get reasonable FPS.
I can't get more than 20FPS without cutting the resolution down to 480p.
Game can lock up steam requiring 'killall -9 steam'.
*** The game won't launch at all if you are running it from an EHDD/ESSD. The game will only launch if its installed onto a SATA/NVME internal drive. Not sure if "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1" makes a difference or not.
Locked game at 720p.
Use medium settings.
Locked up Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. Settings menu is bugged.
Locked up Ubuntu during benchmark to the point where the reset button was invoked (when the first scene change happens), Steam does a CD key prompt for no reason, the Rockstar Launcher runs in Wine, and the default settings don't match the hardware. The setting menu is also visually bugged and requires you to cancel a restart to update everything to the real value.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8,ddraw=n,b" %command%
Game requires ermaccer/Manhunt.Fixer.
TDP 3W, GPU Clock 200mhz, Half Rate Shading
Resolution must be picked in a config window using touchscreen.
Game runs at smooth 60FPS. Battery life measured 6.5-7+ hours.
Ultra requires ProtonGE to work correctly otherwise you won't be able to sign into Steam which blocks multiplayer from working. Classic works with the official Proton. Additionally a multi-colored object will glitch on screen when not using ProtonGE. Game works as expected with ProtonGE.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
EasyAntiCheat
Requires Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime with Proton 7 or later. EasyAntiCheat did not throw any errors or deny Linux from playing multiplayer.
Doesn't make a difference if runtime is on SSD or micro SD.
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ EasyAntiCheat\ Runtime/ %command%
TDP 10 W, GPU Clock 1100 MHz, Medium Graphic Settings, Pre-cached Shaders
Pressing the Xbox/Home button on controllers will temporarily disable controls in game when you switch back.
Game will (still) refuse to boot offline, and the EA app sometimes won't open the game until you try again. GPU/TDP settings above is for 60FPS at native resolution.
Game Now No Longer Works Due to Kernel Anti-Cheat
Launches Black Window,, Then Closes
Starts Origin, black window appears, closes a short awhile after. Already tried d3d11 and PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, neither of them did anything.
Custom conf file in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/PVZGW2/
Game requires custom file named "dxvk.conf" with the contents "dxgi.customVendorId = 1c06" (without the quotes, you can use programs like gedit to make the file) stored in the game's main directory (see above path) for AMD cards to do anything besides showing a black screen then closing. Using the "-refresh" advanced launch option prevents stuttering.
TDP 9 W, GPU Clock 1200 MHz, Automatic Graphic Settings, Pre-cached Shaders
Game runs at smooth 60FPS even off of micro SD. Battery said it could go at least 3 hours with these settings. GPU/TDP settings above is for 60FPS at native resolution.
TDP 11W for smooth 60FPS, changing GPU clock kills FPS
Game runs at smooth 60FPS, I'm assuming game uses conf file like BFBB does for graphic settings. Game runs at about "19.1W" with TDP changed.
Clicking out of the window while it's in full screen mode will result in not being able to focus the game again.
Works with Proton Experimental.
