Runs great with the parameters and x11. Played apex on release on windows, but it's been a while so can't compare.
gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_NVAPI_DRIVER_VERSION=49729 DXVK_NVAPI_ALLOW_OTHER_DRIVERS=1 LFX=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% -medium +fps_max 170
You will have some weird texture bugs when you play your first game.
Second time I played, game crashed after landing. I haven't played much but haven't crashed anymore as of now.
No problems. I do recommend if on nvidia using x11, you get more fps and more stability (not a wayland hater just literally got ~10fps more)
No problems, works surprisingly well. Will update if anything happens because I still don't have that many hours as of now.
Game will run out of the box without any problems other than the fullscreen causing a blackscreen when tabbing out, but just go borderless
Alt-Tabbing when game is in fullscreen causes black screen. Easy fix is to change to borderless
Works great!
Probably do not need to use GE version of proton but I always use it. (well when it works)
Don't recommend to play with steering wheel too many problems & performance is bad on linux
Logitech G29 Steering Wheel did not have FFB & pedals don't work at all.
Way more laggier and texture load VERY slowly
I'd say its an okay game to play on linux with a controller/keyboard but not really worth it with a steering wheel, though you probably could do A LOT of tinkering and get it to work without delay etc.
No issues, just pressed "Play" and that's it.
Did not experience any issues while playing.
DIdn't notice any issues
No tinkering needed works out of the box & no performance issues!
Works great, really no problems at all as of yet (about 5h played on linux)
Game runs just a little bit worse than on windows in my case but at least with my hardware it is VERY playable.
About ~5fps less than on windows and sometimes small freezes but they're rare
Didn't have to do any tinkering worked out of the box. Tried with proton experimental and GE 7.42 and didn't notice any difference so no difference there. On windows 11 it does run a little bit better though the difference is not noticable if I am being honest.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
So, I really recommend using the launch option that I am and many other people do, because that fixes the stuttering. Also I am getting even more fps than on windows if I am using x11 rather than wayland!
The game seems to run without any issues.
Proton-GE7-42 crashes before joining game & Experimental crashes on launch.
-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars -noquicktime -steam -steam
Game crashes instantly on launch if using Proton Experimental & with 7.42 it only crashes once pressing "Join Game"
No problems here.
