After this "wine (system)" would appear as option in compatibillity menu.
I've tried multiple proton options. 9, 8. 8-GE. Nothing work. Strangely enough wine worked for me!
Without wine game launches only first time, and crashes afterward.
P.S. Game is written in Java with libGDX, so it must be possible for author to produce native version.
RUN GAME MANUALLY
Impossible to launch game from steam! need to launch game manually from it's installation dir.
If you try launching it from steam, it would just hang in starting state, and you wouldn't even able to stop the game. You would have to kill steam.
But if you right click, properties, show game files, and launch game from there -- it would pick up steamclinet.so and would even see your steam account and would work properly.
I assume startup command is incorrect in steam config.
In case of "full screen" I can see window title, but upper and bottom portion of a game is choped by title bar and by task bar at a bottom.
If I try de maximize game window I don't see title bar anymore but game screen isn't adaptive and choped badly.
Problems with windowing. Perhaps due to wayland, but I'm not sure.
more likely issues with Electron under Proton and fact that game tries to make borderless window (disable client decorations, IDK).
No tweeking whatsoever. Game jsut launched. Ubisoft launcher works properly under new proton
I'm using proton 8.0 I guess. One chosen by default by steam.
Evertithing jsut worked. Had to wait untill ubisoft launcher installs. There were no need to cr**k the game as is adwised as currently launcher works jsut fine.
Andter I exit the game steam think it's still running but I can force stop it.
2k resolution works. Controller works. (I had some junkiness in curesor movemernt by controller, but I guess it's bad controller, or I'm not used to, that's not my own conrteoller but one I lent from friends)

Only downside is that I can see mouse cursor all the time. Can just move it to corner of a screen.

Game plays with controller config, and cuscenes are working. All is good.
By default Unbisoft launcher works. But game stuch in endless loading animantion after initial logo video

Seems that launcher is not an issue, but something in game. I've tried different protons. On proton 6 laucnher don't laucnh.
IF I remove laucnher as was suggested game sjut don't start on any proton version.
on proton 8 + lanycher game hangs after ESRB and ubisoft logo. Or rather it doesn't hang, it plays animation of loading, but nothing more.
Setting environemnt varables as suggestd by other didn't help.
Gona check it it would even work on windows (10)
Works well
I've noticed some precived chunkiness, but FPS counter was solid 60 GPS, so perhaps it was something with my preception. Or it's caused by it being run in Window mode. Perhpas it's just my preception.

Quiute good, small multimonitor support issues and performance related.

Sometimes FPS dropped below 20 FPS on first level when flame projectiles appeared. I've heard it can be fixed by disabling V-SYNC
Poor support of multiple monitors in Native Linux build
Multiple montoris issue! Game shows on laptop screen, not on external HDMI. Only fix is to use windowed mode, but taskbar would cover part of game then.
Game basically shows on left-most screen, not one selected as primary. This didn't happen for me on almost no other games, with few exceptions.
Fix is to run with proton.
Had some lag. I don't think it's related to Linux.

Serious stuttering in many palces in a game. When you move camera. Turning off Motion bloor mitigated issue somewhat, but not fully. Moving game from NTFS partiton to Btrfs partiotion seems to resolve issue. At least I wasn't able to visually see it. FPS metter was lower.
Gamplay of local play sucks in demo, but that's not proton's fault :-P

Text in dialogs was pretty annoying. You have to move camera around to see all letters. Minimap is bearable.
Some letters in dialogs was glitching out.
HUD layer is glitching (only on HUB area). In game map: some triangules are glitching out and some letters on dialogs disapear.

I wasn't able to make screenshots of all text glitches, but some dialogs was worse than this one on screenshots.
(No problems noticed on non SteamDeck linuix). Also no problems if enable proton instead of native.

Not able to chose on which monitor to run or use windowed mode. But that was just game demo lacking settings at all, not compatibility issue.

Also game crashed when I tried to change screen mode from within game. In menu it works.

Peformace reduction almost in half compared to Widows. Got 20+ FPS with simetimes raising to 40 and in some rare cases 50+
But on windows it runs with 50-64 (in rare ocasions 70)
Generally game is poorly optimized -- it pumps out lots of graphical effects, but uses old engine (UE4) which is struggling whih such effects.

Realyl poorly optimized game where changing grpahical settings doesn't help a lot. And performs x2 better on actual Windows.
Devs are releasing game in 2024 on old UE4 engine, shame on them.

Game started today. Yesteday it didn't start at all. But it crashed the system eventually.
Reduced some of quality settigns to medium. Becouse by default had FPS < 20.
Text is quite readable, but too samall, but tips with controller buttons are exatly too samll and "unreadable". Generally UI isn't scaled, despite having not so big resolution.
Game don't perform well. I even reduced graphical settings (but id didn't apply first time becouse of bad UX and being hard to see "apply" button, but I was then able to chage settings, wihout noticing significant perfornace improveement, perhaps I had to restart game session for settings to apply? game didin't say this).
And while you play you can have 20 or 30 FPS sometime more. And fan working on full.
But regardless of this, once per few minutes game hangs for 20 sec. It actually hangs so hard that not even steam button works, so it's full system hang.
Game hangs occasinally in a way so whole steam deck hangs and steam button and [...] buttons doesn't work. And after one of such hangs after I press said buttons couple times and my fan wsa spining like crazy -- steam deck reboot. End went into system files check mode!
Yesterday It didn't laucnh for me, but today I was able to paly the game. Unfortunately it "fried" stem decks GPU, so deck had to reboot itself.
Games runs slower then expected and sometime freezes for tens of seconds

And also freezes ocasionally. But no crashes (as it was on Deck), but I didn't test for long.
It's runnaable and playable if you really want this game, but frezes makes experiance not so good.

Minor grafical glitches here and there, don't know if they exits on Windows. Issue with green bar on bottom of video definitely wasn't.

- Some meshes of walls sometimes flicker. Like whole cube disapears for fractiopn of a second and you can see through it. And this is regular wall, not Holocube.
It's palyable, with tweaks. And really enjoable. Anticheat starts faster then on Windows on same machine!

I previusly had issue, game crashed. But re isntalling game resolved everithing. (game update applyd incorrectly). Re check game files resolved the issue.

For month I can't launch the game now.
It hangs on loading. Screen isn'nt refreshing. I just see ghot image of my deskop. but not clickable.
By look of it -- it tries to run on integrated GPU, consumes all VRAM, but can't render a thing.
Ussual way to force nvidia gpu didn't work for me.
It's palyable on steam deck, but I don't want to play on gamepad in such game.

For a while I wasn't able to play this game! Usual __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD and co didn't help.
Game didn't launch at all under Xorg and only on iGPU on wayland session. It was lot of frustartion and googleing, and finally I've found hint on github of VKD3D. It turns out vkd3d is for DX 12 and all hints tweaks related to dxvk won't work, as it is only for DX 9-11!!!
So what you have to do is set up following launch options:
VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=0 %command%
But you need to check what number is assigned to your GPU by system. In my case it's 0
.
Easiest way to check it is using nvtop
but If you don't have it on your system (install it then, lol, how do you live without it?) -- you can use:
vulkaninfo | less
But you'll have to scroll a lot to find GPU id.
Or you might want to try different numbers startring from 0.

Can see main screen. Can add new blocks on canvas.
When I chose any sample from "Welcome" screen -- nothing happens. When I enter Preferences it crashes.
Looks like it works. Hadn't compared visuals to Windows. But can't play fullscreen mode with non native resolution.
If I use not native resolution in fulscreen -- it crops game scrren by said resolution and dowplays only cropped area. Aso mouse cursor renered and it's coolider don't correspond.
Also screen traring in fullscreen mode.
If I use fullscreen with smaller resolution -- visible mosue cursor don't correspond to colisions.

Both controller sticks are used to select dialog option (and arrow buttons). But none of them allows to scroll dialogue option. So sometimes selection is even outside of visible area. It would eventually scroll down, but not from first move. Annoying.

This control is slightly better, as you can at least scroll dilagoue choices, but now you can't naviagate game menu and settings. You have to use touchscreen or trackpads.
I wan't to make my own comunity template, but it turned out to be hard, to mix controller and mouse inputs. (Steama's UX of editing layout is awful)

Having web browser layout looks better than controller in some sense, but it's subjective. Need to have comunity layout.

Text is quite small, can be tweaked in "Accessibility" option in menu. But in this case not many dialogue options would fit on screen, it would be better if devs made dialog options box wider.
I didn't play whole game, but seems that my custom controller layout works well. Otherwise it's hard to select dialogue options.

I've got balck screen when I started scrimish. I could see UI and minimap (with POI shown but not actual map) and everithing hangs, even mosue isn't moving, and GPU usage drops to zero.

Only works if I use proton experimental. By default uses AMD (integrated gpu) In this case it don't require proton experimental. need to forece it into using dedicated GPU.
I have AMD CPU and nVidia dedicated GPU.

Bottom pathing is not visible in mission 3. I guess it's not proton related.
Looks like it works. Can't compare with native Windows. Som graphical glitches. I guess it's jsut becouse game is in early stage and not Proton related.

Wayland: Steam overlay ans screenshots didn't work. Xorg: Steam screenshots seems to work, but overlay crashes the game.
Right mouse button wasn't registering in a game
Steam Cloud issues
On launch there is a screen to chose which GPU to use.
On wayland it shows for around 1 second. If you don't react in time -- it crashes. If you fast enough -- you can paly the game (with other bugs)
On Xorg there are not such issue.
Using native build I've got really poor experience, especially on wayland. On Proton 9 everighting works fine.

Sound and other stuff works. But FPS is uncaped, so it shows up 350+ FPS and eats whole GPU, despite no need of such waste of resourece. So my fan had to kick in full throttle.
Works well on Proton 5.13-6. On other protons 6+ and 4 having prblems. No Alt+Tab issues noticed as other calims.
If I run on Proton 6.3-8 Or dfault one offered by steam -- on level 0-2 game screen freses, while I can hear movement and so on. Hoitting Esc unfrezes the screen for 5 seconds. On proton 4 when I click mouse -- it moves crosshair dwon under the feet.
Had some issues to Steam Cloud, don't think it's proton related. Cloud restores saves but not full profile, so game can't start with partial profile, if you already played the game and have saves in cloud.
- Go to game's properties in steam.
- Disable steam cloud
- move dreaded Profile 1 dir somewhere else
- launch game
- create profile
- exit game
- copy your saves back to newly created profile
- launch game to verify all works.
- enable steam cloud back
Steam cloud glitched. Not linux related. Is fixable.
Was able to see lobby, and strangely saw 7 people ther. Didn't try starting a game.
