Cannot alt-tab in fullscreen, use windowed fullscreen
Game is forced to second monitor, you have to hold Windows and drag the window to the main monitor
Only thing missing is third-party anticheats..
gamemoderun mangohud %command% -novid -freq 144 -tickrate 128 -nojoy +mat_queue_mode 2 -maxdownloadfilesizem 1024
Map textures starting with _ (or something) will be pure black, this is rarely faced in surf/bhop servers
I cannot play on my regular bhop server because when the timer runs it becomes super laggy, font issue?
Missing third party anticheats :(
gamemoderun mangohud %command% -novid -freq 144
Nothing special, works out of the box
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Works out of the box, but the max FPS cap is 120. I also had to change graphic settings to go from 60 to 120 fps after setting the FPS cap..

No issues at all
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
There was ONE time where my shaders went all wonkey causing lag spikes and a castle to look like a black flickering blob. After a restart/shader compile/validation it resolved itself for the rest of the playtrough.
The FPS was abit low but playable, unsure if its Proton related tho
Works out of the box which a slight hickup

After reading ProtonDB the first thing i did before booting was editing Fallout76Custom.ini with
[Controls]
bMouseAcceleration = 0
[Display]
iPresentInterval = 0
My first issue was forced Controller input, had to change bGamepadEnable=0
in Project76.ini
Unable to exit the game, ALT+F4 made the game run in the background
SKYHIGH sensetivity, minimum on 1600DPI was unplayable
Bethesda and their controller games...
Unable to detect graphics driver version, blinking window and freeze
When i try to lanch the game i get "Forza Horzion 5 Compatability Warning" and "Unable to detect graphics driver version."
If i click "Ignore Warning" the game launches but the whole game window keeps blinking. A few second into launch the system becomes unresponsive and then Plasma Desktop crashes.
Pretty sure i experimented with launch options earlier but didnt take notes since it didn't help.
DXVK_HDR=1 mangohud gamemoderun gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -r 144 -e -f -- %command%
Without gamescope the game did not even load the first menu, its just flickering and stops responding, i have no idea how this game works out of the box for alot of other people
I have no idea if this is a Proton or Forza Horizon 5 issue, but for some reason Enter or Mouse 1 would stopped working until game restart
Game does not launch
Game does not launch on day 1 (oh no so unexpected)
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
If you get stuck on Installing Script (Microsoft DirectX) you need to launch the game for the first time with the Flatpak version of Steam
I did not try to run the game before i did this fix, but people were saying you needed to use a config file to use all cores (which is a common thing sadly)
Create a user.cfg in the Need for Speed Heat folder then add
Thread.ProcessorCount *Amount of CPU cores*
Thread.MaxProcessorCount *Amount of CPU cores*
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount *Amount of CPU threads*

Helios kept having flickering artifacts, i don't think increasing the swap file helped, it might be a common issue with the game as someone recommended restarting which did indeed resolve the issue
Game keeps insisting on staying on top
Has most likely nothing to do with Proton, but it dosn't use 100% CPU or GPU, the game just needs to be optimized
I believe after the DLC update the game started to crashed every hour / hour and a half. I encounted the same crash on Windows, but only once in very long sessions.
Except for the hour long ques and the horrible servers there is no multiplayer issues
For me increasing the swap file did nothing.
I don't think PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 does anything at all.
I'm unsure if -dx12 did anything at all.

Install d3dcompiler_47 to remove "fixme:d3dcompiler:skip_u32_unknown" spam from the Proton Logs
The game have graphical issues which also shows up on Windows.
The framerate does feel lower in high effect area compared to my VFIO VM. I've not been in a war, but i expect the frames to be all over the place.
With a NVIDIA GPU i would crash in specific areas (High level Elite zones and Dungeons) after a hour or so.
The crashes people are experiencing might be related to VRAM in cities or swap file getting filed up. These crashes are also reported on Windows. The bigger issue that i had earlier was with NVIDIA, i tried both regular and open source driver and there was no difference. AMD = No crash at all and no issues as far as i can tell.
Works out of the box
My previous review appears to be a me issue after updating the Nvidia drivers... Works out of the box after pc reboot..
The window is Borderless Windowed
-dx12 actually made me stutter, unsure if its related to shader cache but after removing it because stutterless. Not seen any memory leak.
mangohud does not seem to work WITHOUT -dx12
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 OBS_VKCAPTURE=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
No Proton related issues
Works out of the box without any Proton specific issues. I just tested -dx12 but didn't see any changes in performance, i guess it would be needed for DLSS/RTX tho.
gamemoderun mangohud PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% -autoconfig
if i went below my native res in fullscreen the window would be very messed up, worked fine in Windowed
Be careful about adjusting your RTX settings while in game, do it in the lobby or your PC might freeze.
You need PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 to launch the game.
Use -autoconfig to fix the resolution on startup.
After some tweaks i made it work, but as a 3440x1440 144hz gamer the fps is just too low, even after tweaking the RTX settings
Steam crashes once the game starts.
