switched to Proton 8 and game ran fine. Crashed instantly otherwise, and the crash alert went away too quickly to see the message.
Runs just fine

Proton 9 and Experimental doesn't seem to play well at all with Payday 3, I found using Proton 8.0-5 solved the launch issues as of part 2 of the anniversary update.
An audio bug introduced with the addition of the trip laser has been fixed however updates still break some other things E.G. guards will not investigate a lure in one of the stores in the Diamond District heist.
Ran without any (linux specific) issues

Will not launch
I have fiddled around with launch settings, installing various drivers and wine related packages and it still won't boot. I got it to launch without DXVK, but with the abhorrent performance you'd expect from that. Just keep getting the message; "Assertion failed! Expression: “!status && “vkCreateRayTracingPipelinesKHR””" Happens in other games too, idk if it's a problem with AMD cards or just Arch being Arch.

Game runs fine.
Payday 3 runs fine right out of the box with Proton Experimental. No tinkering/forced compatibility. Payday 2 is still better tho :P

Game is very buggy regardless of platform, but as far as Proton stability and performance goes it works perfectly.
Comfy 100+ FPS on my hardware at high settings and everything seems to work, including mods. Game never crashes or stutters abnormally.
Only issue is that some heists seem to run at a low framerate when using XESS or FSR upscaling until I change my upscaling quality back and forth one time. Unsure if this is a Proton issue, but it's an easy fix and I'm more inclined to blame the game because the game is a mess.
Only issue I ran into was that the audio kept cutting out for a second, not horrible, but not that nice either...

Rien à ajouter
Le jeu se lance sans problème. Je n'ai pas le RTX activé (et ne l'avais pas avant de passer sous linux).

Fading in and out/pulsating audio (this may be because of recent updates and not exactly a linux issue, take this with a grain of salt)
Sometimes the game lags for up to 3 seconds, can play with it no problem
FPS drops are because of terrible game performance and optimization, also occured on windows (if not more frequently)

Worked out of the box, borked audio due to the Houston Breakout update.
Audio randomly cuts out, considering I had this issue while also on Windows this seems more like an issue with the Houston Breakout update.

Losowe spadki fps do 30, alt+tab naprawia to

It's Payday 3, what good can I say?
Issues are of the games balance and corporate descisions, not bugs or broken features from Proton!

Didnt crash unlike on windows

now after beta - flawless with proton-8-25
Game runs great out of the box
Shaders get compiled when they happens so... yea..

-fileopenlog -dx12
sometimes graphics settings randomly reset, seems rare and easy enough to fix
I strongly reccomend cryo utilities to help acheive higher frame rates but even without it you can get about 40-45fps on medium to low settings (easy 60fps with cryo utilities unless in an open street)
Some small text / icons

No issues at all, just download and run with Proton Experimental. Having a weaker hardware gives me almost the double FPS as my friend with a Ryzen 9 5900X, game seems to run way better on Linux than on Windows for what I saw on reviews

Needed to be on latest NVIDIA driver, though (currently 535), would not run on version 470

Better than Windows ???
I didn't expect to work this good, I tried to play without tweaking anything except the in-games graphics settings and it worked like a charm. I have more Fps and less freezes than playing on my Windows 11 instance ???

Runs identically to Windows
I've gotten 130 hours in. about 40/60 Windows to Linux. Performance while not carefully tested appears to run the same on both OS's

After update 1.0.2, protonGE 8 no longer works with this game on my machine. I've had to switch to proton experimental to get the game to launch. Since then, it has once again run flawlessly.
Game works flawlessly

Smooth experience
Runs well on my setup with everything maxed out

Ran perfect, better than windows in my experience.
Buttery smooth and definietly enjoyable experience.

Work fine ! I have the same fps that on windows
This not linux pb but payday server issue

PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=60,no_display PROTON_DXVK_ASYNC=1 DXVK_HUD=compiler DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 gamemoderun mangohud %command% -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -high
Most of the environment variables in the launch options don't do anything, but I left them in anyway
Sometimes the FPS gets capped at 30 and you have to change the FPS cap in options to fix it, unsure if it's only a issue on Linux or if it happens on Windows as well
Works perectly well, expect a little performance downgrade.

As long as the servers work the game will
