Click ins' text is not shown on the launcher window, all others are readmes' and links to websites, so only the first option to play is needed.
Manually enabled in control settings
Game was a stuttering mess back in 2022-23, so it seems like Valve or Proton got a hold on the performance. Once starting the game, had no issues whatsoever.

Installed PhysX 9.13.0604 (Legacy), as recommended by PCGamingWiki via:
protontricks-launch --appid 34010 $HOME/Downloads/PhysX-9.13.0604-SystemSoftware-Legacy.msi
Game played nicely after PhysX is installed.

(GOG) On Keyboard+Mouse, Game Would be Fine, but on a Handheld Gamepad Support is Partially Broken
Gamepad and controllers work BUT don't operate the radial menus properly, which breaks important functionality (like gadget selection, ammo types, and ability selection) and using a mouse trackpad is somehow blocked in these menus. Also, controllers are not automatically detected and must be enabled in the settings via mouse first. If the Deck is docked and you're using a different controller, having it disconnect for any reason will turn the setting back off (annoyingly).
To workaround a SteamOS/Client bug, you CANNOT use the "add to Steam" right-click context menu to add the installer to Steam. You MUST do so with the Steam client desktop CLIENT button otherwise EXEs won't launch. After choosing your install location (ideally not the default), you have to go into the Steam properties for the game and change the EXE and folder path to where "APGame.exe" is.

Went into BaseEngine.ini and changed MaxAnisotropy to 16 and MaxSmoothFramerate to 90
Added Click to be able to navigate launcher and main menu at first startup.
Text on launcher buttons is invisible, but buttons are still selectable via touchscreen or Trackpad + Click inputs. First listed button starts the game.
Controller is not enabled on first startup, you will have to go into the main menu settings via Trackpad + Click and enable "Xbox 360 Controller" in Controls settings.

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
If launcher shows only INSTALL button:
- add binaries/APGame.exe as non Steam Game
- set proton checkbox in properties
- launch once to create comatdata folder
- installation of PhysX in game 'support' folder via protontricks
- there will be 2 games, you need "non steam game APGame.exe ID"
- launch via steam, enjoy.
Launch option PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% is recommended. Game still kinda choopy and jumps between 60 and 40 fps, but to be honest - windows version runs same. Great game,. bad code.
FPS drops, same as Win version.
Game has a launcher, just use trackpad mouse to click Play.
Artifacting on Steam Proton, switching to latest GE Proton fixes this.
Shame its not sold anymore but if you can get a copy, you'll enjoy this unique Espionage RPG by RPG masters Obsidian Entertainment on the go. Just expect some jank, and maybe have some glasses for the smaller text.
Nessuno problema
Il gioco funziona e gira bene
A bit confusing with a secondary window where it doesn't show the buttons properly and have to hover over in order to show the button text

Some issues with visuals and controller support.
Whenever the screen changes (pausing, entering a mini-game, low health, etc.) artifacts will show up all over the screen.
Mouse & keyboard controls are awful, and unfotunately the game doesn't support controller input.
Other than that the game is still perfectly playable. It's honestly a miracle that this game can even run on Proton in the first place.
Works great when using the latest GE-Proton (used 7-28 as of this review) it fixed the artifacting I experienced when using default.
Text for the launcher isn't displayed so you will have to use the touchscreen and touch the top button to launch the game.
In order to have the gamepad enabled you have to go in the in-game options menu to enable the xbox 360 controller and then it will work. Also if you are using the latest version of GE-Proton then that should fix the artifacting.

Text buttons in the launch window aren't rendered. Just choose the first option that it's PLAY with the touchscreen.
With GE-Proton7-27 no artifacts. To make the gamepad layout works. Enable Xbox 360 controller in-game options.
Seems to work fine having played through the tutorial area with some minor, non-gameplay affecting artifacting.
Artifacting visible on world/characters when game is 'paused', such as when in the menu or during the lockpicking/hacking minigames. Same artifacting visible on character in some menus.
Controller needs to be manually enabled in the controls menu.
The launcher is a little janky and the buttons don't display properly until hovered over. Top one launches the game.
Artifacts when in a pause menu or hacking.
Game starts with gamepad disabled. Go into game options to enable Xbox controller. No issues after that.
Worked fine for me with latest Proton with on issues - I just needed to use PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% as a launch option.
Ran smoothly with the only tinkering being to set PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% as a launch option.

Overblown visual effects, particularly the motion blur. The launcher buttons have the white text bug, but hovering over them makes the textures pop back into existence.
Cutscenes are choppy to the point of futility; just skip them to get into the game. There is a lesser-mentioned issue: hitching and process lag. Basically, you go to interact with an enemy (takedown), but the process temporarily hitches or lags so that the enemy notices you, gets out of the takedown window, AND triggers the alarm, and all of this happens simultaneously in a brief moment of what visually looks like a pause or stutter.
As mentioned, there's a bug where the game will just freeze for a moment and process multiple things in under a second. After not even being able to stealth the prologue because of this happening in room 2 (which is the easiest part of the entire game), I personally cannot recommend playing it. Unless using a different Proton revision fixes this, you will constantly be struggling against this game for your entire playthrough.
Proton revision: Experimental

Используйте PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Shuttering on cutscenes.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
use this launch option.

Remember to switch Proton to 3.7, and optionally use PROTON_USE_D9VK
(works fine without it too, cutscenes included).
This made me think the issue might be with D9VK, so I tried Proton 5, both with ESYNC=0
and USE_WINED3D
, however cutscenes remained choppy.
Whatever - use Proton 3.7, ESYNC, and you're good to go.

Can't get past launcher
Launcher opens, but the text boxes are all empty. The launch window cannot be moved or interacted with, and must be killed via terminal. Enabling D9VK and disable Esync had no effect.
set launch option PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Everything run smoothly
Glitchy and Poor FPS

Once full screen the game runs fine.
Cut scenes and the game work well using D9VK/ACO after turning off ESYNC.
The options I used are: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 RADV_PERFTEST=aco PROTON_USE_D9VK=1

Works well with d9vk after disabling ESYNC and is playable, but occasional minor visual glitches do occur. Hopefully these will be fixed as d9vk matures.

Even with Esync fix this game has poor performance issue. It's not a big deal in most cases, but hacking is practically impossible.

Need disabling esync for smooth video playback. Game has minor shader glitches and bad performance. Disabling CSMT helped a little.

Disable Esync to fix stuttering videos (add PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% to launch options). Mouse and turn movement seems quite fast sometimes. Not sure if that's related to playing on Linux or if that happens on Windows as well. Very playable.

Needs to disable esync, launch options = PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Logitech Wireless Game pad F710 also works with packet xboxdrv is installed

Mouse sometimes jumps insanely fast while turning around, Esync had to be disabled, else works fine.

Disable Esync for cut scenes to function properly. Game runs great aside from needing that tweak.

Playable after disabling esync if you dont videos lag to an unplayable degree

massiv stuttering ..black screens

Only the launcher starts

Needs to disable esync otherwise it stutters, launch options = PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
