Flawless
Played the entire game, no issues whatsoever!
Switched to Proton 9.0-3 since Experimental introduces significant video distortions!

The reason I use the listed Launch Options is because the FOV is fixed at 85 and this made me sick. The only fix I found online was to use "Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden FOV changer" by RoseTheFlower (https://github.com/RoseTheFlower/UltrawideIndex/releases/tag/banishersfov), which needs to be launched after the game is launched to then use it and must be ran inside of the same prefix. If you don't need/want to change the FOV, then go ahead and ignore my listed Launch Options.
Ran great from beginning to end, no issues

Game runs fine with default settings (between 30-45 fps) but suffers from TAA blurryness.
Press [Steam+Dpad Left] once the splash screen comes up to bypass the hidden warning window.

Launch via desktop mode due to outdated graphics driver warning
A pop up warns that the installed AMD graphics driver is known to have issues (31.0. 21902.5), and recommends using 24.4.1
The game will not continue past the splash screen in game mode due to the aforementioned outdated amd driver issue. In desktop mode, you can click ok and force the launch, but there's no way I can find to skip it in game mode.

Runs out of the box. Typical stuttering after start while the shaders are compiled. After that it runs smooth.

Stuck at Splash Screen. Switching Proton Version doesn't help. Still looking for potential fix, but will probably play the game with my Main PC.
It's impossible to launch the game with the latest patch as of 2/10/24 due to AMD drivers reported as problematic

Sometimes, for no reason, manually saved games suddenly dissapears. I don't know if it's a game or proton issue.
Outstanding game! Runs out of the box without any issue, great story, characters and very good performance with stunning visuals. 10/10.

The game is very well optimized and runs out of the box without issues. Do note that this game does not support ultrawides and has blackbars

https://github.com/RoseTheFlower/UltrawideIndex/releases/tag/banishers You can use this and the command I included to fix your aspect ratio in the game for those using an ultrawide. At least for a 32:9, unsure of 21:9.

Settings used:
- Display mode: Borderless
- Maximum frame rate: 30 FPS
- Vertical synchronization: Off
- Anti-aliasing/upsampling: TAA
- Resolution scaling: 110%
- Motion blur: On
- View distance quality: Medium
- Foliage quality: Medium
- Textures quality: High
- Effects quality: Medium
- Shadows quality: Low
- Post process quality: Medium
- Anti-aliasing: Very high
- HDD Compat Mode: Off
These settings are not for the faint of heart. I wasn't satisfied with the soft/dithering visuals of the preset that auto-applies on Deck, so I tried to push things as far as feasibly possible. The result is a gameplay experience that looks great, but also frequently dips into the mid 20s from the 30 FPS frame cap. Given that a signifcant aspect of the combat lies in correctly timing parries, I feel a disclaimer is needed.

Die Meldung AMD GPU Grafiktreiber zu alt
kann mann wiefolgt unterdrücken, wenn man eine NVIDIA Grafikkarte hat:
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=no_display,fps_limit=60 %command%

NVIDIA not working properly
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr,dxr11 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 %command%
If I let the game think my GPU is from AMD it works, but if I try to make it recognize my GPU as being from NVIDIA the game crashes a few seconds after being launched. Can't even get to the menu that way.
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%

Is stable and nearly bugfree on day one (have not encountered one other than dialog cam change causing subtle jerking movements in physics objects)

Worked OotB with listed GE version (despite "driver version" warning). No set-up beyond the "wizard" that appears to start with first-run. Promising so far, almost to be expected of UE games TBH.

It just works

Proton experimental works
The game is playable, but I must be in quite low settings for it to run smoothly
