Setting an environmental variable in steam's launch params
Set PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
in your steam launch parameters
Game intentionally disabled from running in Proton/Wine with latest update
It's certainly playable, but don't expect more than 30 FPS on the first island.
Average 24 FPS
If you're importing saves from a windows install / lutris the save files will have incorrect cased filenames. Make sure you keep everything lowercase when copying saves.
Would recommend adding %command% -nostartupmovies
to the startup parameters to skip the startup trailers.
After performing the SupportTool.exe -> EoCApp.exe symlink and fixes mentioned elsewhere the game runs pretty well.
You will need to symlink the bin dir and move some files around as mentioned in various other reports.
Very poor performance. Maybe the full steam release in November will bring performance optimizations with it.
Large pop areas will tank your FPS pretty hard. Don't recall it lagging this bad while running in a VM+GPU passthrough.
Networking in the game isn't very lag tolerant. Lots of rubber-banding when above 120 ping.
Be aware that the save/player/world files are encrypted per-machine. So it's not easy to move saves between hosts/dedicated servers.
Game is early access so theres plenty of jank
Netcode is terrible, I wouldn't consider multiplayer playable in its current state.
If you plan to play with friends I would wait until the multiplayer experience is usable. It's fine in singleplayer though.
To get audio/mic to stop crackling put PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command%
in steam launch parameters. Try tweaking the 30
around if it still isn't working.
Multi-monitor setup doesn't always pick the correct window on launch
Gives an explicit error on startup saying 'Proton / Wine / SteamDeck aren't supported'
Being able to play on the official/non-modded realm takes some trial and error due to EAC.

Deleting the wine prefix and reinstalling with proton ge9.7 did allow me to join the official realm on the release branch (not using the launcher workaround). But when connecting to friends I would get random disconnects unless I was the host.
