Played single player, was able to browse multiplayer servers but any of the servers with Battleye protection are unavailable as this process will install but will fail to run. I only played single player, but as this is also hosted on a server the non-official servers should offer similar performances. I started a new game with a new character and experienced no major performance issues. Performance would be on par with my Windows VM even with my out dated video drivers (I will update them before my next report)
Game runs well with no tweaks. Graphics issues on load screen and lack of BattlEye means no support for official servers.
Loading screens look like a TV test card with multi colored bars/Blocks on screen instead of the expected image. This also remains in the main menu in the bottom left corner.
Installing battlEye and the game would not load. Had to delete battlEye folder to get game to run again after installing it.
Single player works well no graphics issues visible once in game. Performance also seems on par to Windows.
Installing BattlEye stopped the game from loading.
With the new crashes since the update plus lack of Battleye support I dont think a typical gamer would enjoy this game on Proton.
Ever since recent update game will intermittently crash when trying to load world. I'm only playing single player so not tried one of the servers. If I restart the game after a crash it will usually start ok. Seems worse if using latest Proton Experimental.
Been playing Isle of Siptah for a few days now on one of the official servers and have had no issues.
For battleye support install the Proton Battleye Runtime from Tools
Once I had Proton Batteye Runtime installed I was able to join any server without any issues.
Game installs and runs easily. I'm using a Playstation 5 joypad and it was fully working also.
Game runs almost like windows, Launcher runs, opening videos run. Some Graphic corrpution on the menu screen but again gone once you play.
None
Some graphical corruption on the menus
Other than the graphics issues at the menu I see no problems using Steams Proton experimental. I even managed to enable a few subscribed mods
Game installs with no issues. however crashes upon start. disabled Esync, D3d11 and use Wine D3d11 from user_settings.py made no change.
Need to tweak the move sensitivity on view controls on gamepad.
View controls on Gamepad were "over responsive" moved to fast. Jarring experience.
Installed and ran with no issues. slight sensitivity issue with gamepad easily adjusted in settings.
Install and click run Crashed first time but just click PLAY again when you get it back.
Sound effects/music are a lot louder than spoken word making in game chat with NPCs very hard to hear
Graphics appear "washed out" can't explain it better than that.
Performance is not similar to Windows although disabling any kind of fog/smoke effect helps a lot. Although walking on planets takes a large performance hit.
Only works with current Proton Experimental tried 6.3.5 and older but would not work.
When using Proton Experimental no tweaks/proton tricks/additional software required just install and click play.
Will crash on first run but just run again and it will run fine.
This is a test of Elite Dangerous in VR using a Valve Index Headset
Sound only coming from PC Speakers not Index headset
Online play worked with no issues.
Solo play also worked with no issues.
Initially after install the game would not start in VR but after a reboot that was solved. The only issue is that sound does not come from the headset but from PC speakers (but this appears to be general VR not a game issue)
No Display after initial Videos
There was an error with Uplay during install. Now game starts plays the Ubisoft logo/video and then crash to desktop.
Wineserver still running and still shows as running in Steam but no display/game window is present.
Game running with no tweaks and no issues. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but have played a lot of the Reach campaign.
Played through some of the campaign. Seems to work well however some performance issues. Also sound for SFX in game is 100% and can not be change changing the volume sliders for voice/sfx makes no difference which in this case is a loss as the voice(s) are a major part of this title.
Complains can not find video card, Bring up launcher, Complains about video card again, Black screen flashes up and then nothing.
Tried setting to Windowed mode and turned video settings to minimal. Also tried Proton Current experimental, 6.3-5 and 5.13-6. Same results with all.
Only thing I had to do was to set resolution in the cfg file as it would not detect my monitor. However I did not run it in a Window I ran full screen. I don't have Windows installed for a Platform comparison but I have a GTX 1070 and on high settings I get 30 FPS on the benchmark but appears to play well when playing. (Was comfortable and no issues when playing) I played for over two hours. Multiple cut scenes and gameplay cuts and no crashes. Game seems stable.
This is a test using a Vale Index and SteamVR to play this game.
Audio comes from PC speakers not from Valve Index speakers
Initially once installed the game would not start in VR. A System reboot resolved that however.
Works fine no tweaks will switch to window mode if ALT+TAB to something else.
Starts in Windowed. easy to change but if focus lost on game (EG: ALT + TAB) it switches back to window mode.
No tweaks done (my first test, not sure what can be done) just installed and tried to run. Crash to Desktop after initial screen opens with load bar.
Install/Run with no issues. Performance is good on modest hardware.
Not a install and play. Some slight tinkering involved.
After loading to a new area moving left/right gives slight slowness. Clears after a few minutes.
Game initially would not start. Edited Game.ini file to stop startup movies and then ran ok.
