WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b" %command%
Very difficult to figure out controls. I wanted to use the other community layout, but it wouldn't steer.
If using mohredlou's layout, make sure the game is launched with a controller, and turn it on in settings or it won't work.
Mouse cursor did not indicate location of click until I fixed the resolution.
Game runs fine with high graphics at 90fps.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b" %command%
Old game, but runs well. Either crashes randomly on main menu after launch or not at all
Needs Proton-Experimental (crashes with Proton 7.0-4) and works then flawless.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b" %command%
As stated by Corben a bit further down, simply switching the game to Proton 4.2-9 and adding the "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b" %command%" launch parameter made it work more-or -less flawlessly.

After intro crushes on loading screen.
No amount of tinkering made it run.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b"
According to PCGamingWiki set launch options to WINEDLLOVERRIDES="iphlpapi=b" %command%
or the game doesn't start or crashes.
Game can start with newer versions of Proton (4.11-13 up to 6.3-8c) if PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
is additionally set, but it crashes after a while.
Does not crash on 4.2-9 and the override. Played through the tutorials, there is a little hiccup every now and then, but seems stable otherwise.
Displays the initial logo but crashes soon after.

Plays publisher logo, then crashes and leaves desktop resolution changed
This game switches my primary display to 1024x768, then launches on a random, different monitor. It takes two minutes to load and then crashes after the publisher logo. I've tried with different Proton versions and 5.21GE, but the result didn't change.
Developer splash showed properly, game crashed on loading screen
Unplayable for me because of missing textures
No space or ship textures, it's all black and the only visible things are the HUD.

Continuous crashing
While playing, switching scenes or between cut scenes; the game will crash. No set limit before crashing but, continuously under half an hour of gameplay

Game installs with no issues. however crashes upon start. disabled Esync, D3d11 and use Wine D3d11 from user_settings.py made no change.

Running this on a Thinkpad T580 with an NVIDIA GeForce card using primusrun due Optimus. Adding "primusrun %command%" to make use of the card allowed this game to run flawlessly.

Cleared the first three tutorial missions with no trouble out of box. After clicking Play, be patient and wait, the all-white screen will go away after a few seconds. Once the game loads it runs smoothly. Sound and in-game movies work fine.
