If you don't care about multiplayer, Doom Eternal is great fun to use. It runs stable and smooth out of the box.

If you use ALT+TAB to return to the desktop while minimizing the game, the image will remain black when you return and you will have to exit and restart the game.

I could see friends in the lobby but not play with them. I guess this has something to do with the anti-cheat service that Doom Eternal uses.
