Now go kill some Bandits!
Had to drop resolution and takes a while to load all items of a level before it has a stable FPS
You can't get past the tutorial without the Window Media Foundation hack
Have not tried online yet
I tried playing for about 10 hours and now I am putting this game down until there is better Linux support as much as I hate to do this
Really annoying, crashes for me randomly when going in and out of menus... got really annoying and now waiting for future fixes before I attempt to play again :(
Need MF installed or you get stuck when no video plays
Runs better with Proton than with Steam Linux Runtime
When running "native" with the Steam Linux Runtime I had an issue where when I left the Chroma Squad windows (fullscreen or windowed) my mouse wouldn't work anywhere else. Running it with Proton adds a few seconds to start it up and IT FIXED MY MOUSE ISSUE. (also it's such a simple game that it still runs at like 1000+ fps )
It was super pixelated, looked like it was rendering at 480p on my 1080p laptop screen.

Everything worked great out of the box.... still never win team events, but at least I can lose at 60fps
Other then the slight performance drop, works perfectly with the latest proton version!
At lowest settings at 1920x1080 it would hitch a lot and drop a lot of frames. At highest settings at 1600x900 it was a solid 60fps. I'm on a laptop, so need to adjust my screen resolution before I start otherwise 1600x900 on a 1920x1080 display looks blurry
I had to restart steam on the first launch due to UPlay not hooking up correctly, not sure if my fault, but in case you run into same issue
Tried Protontricks and Experimental Proton... no luck, just refuses to start
/dxadapter=0 /borderless=0 /dx11
protontricks 8190 d3dx10 d3dcompiler_43 d3dcompiler_47
Seems to be working on AMD Mesa, but not Intel Mesa currently
Great!
When running X11
it would have huge input latency, even on my other Windows
Switched to Wayland
and ran perfectly
Game starts loading in a super small window and then crashes right before menu. Have not attempted any tinkering on it
Last few longs from Proton_log

Installed, put in 50 hours, only 1 freeze (and think it was a known game issue, not proton issue), and had no issues or slowness at all
SEGA arcade games don't have sound, not the worst thing in the world, but just be aware
I have an issue where trying to alt+tab
between the game basically crashes it. Also if I adjust my computer volume/brightness the little OS UI that shows the level will sometimes just halt the game for a full minutes. This happens regardless of fullscreen/windowing.
Worked greate and played entire game with no issues
On X11 I found if I ever exited, it would not be able to return to the screen
Didn't try Wayland
