Works beautifully

Game works as intended. All the points of the game work as they should and function as they should. Note:After your first play through you will need to switch into desktop mode to delete a file ^_^

Users on X11 will have a smooth playthrough, however players on Wayland might have to set SDL_VIDEODRIVER=
SDL_VIDEODRIVER= ./DDLC.sh # %command%
Display issues where the screen vibrates when switching menus, but this is does not affect gameplay that much. I think its because of Hyprland or window managers in general, as another user stated dwm also has issues

Works out of the box, without problems
Works really good on first install, managed to beat the game entirely without issues.

Works out of the box
The game messes with game files. Some will become corrupted or missing. That is a feature of the game, it's expected.

Runs smoothly out of the box with no hiccups.

gamemoderun ./DDLC.sh # %command%
Running without the launch params specified gives a performance warning, tanking the framerate down to 1FPS, no matter which version of Proton is used.
Works OOTB with Proton

It's a renpy game. It's going to run well no matter what
Had to run through the game today during a discussion on the bad end of the game. Worked exactly as Dan intended it to including the scares I didn't think would work on Linux

Game functions perfectly fine, just should probably be run in a window if you intend to multitask.
Launch time was rather lengthy. Minimizing the window while in fullscreen causes the game to stop responding.

I like this game, runs perfectly on Linux

mangohud gamemoderun gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f -r 60 -o 30 %command%
Runs like a native game. NOTE: The specified launch options are completely optional and are not required to play the game.
Just Monika (Works Perfecttly)

./DDLC.sh # %command%
Linux Native!!!

Working fine with latest Proton
Starting it on a daily basis and everything is fine! Really! I'm serious!
Limiting the FPS to 30 or less is a good idea if you want to conserve battery life
Going into desktop mode is required for file manipulation (if you've played the game, you know what I mean.)
Roda Perfeitamente como a versão de Windows.
Instale e jogue simples assim não precisa de configurações que já roda perfeitamente como deve ser, não tive lag, crashes ou travamentos nenhum! pode ir sem medo.
Reduced watts to 5 and reduced gpu

Second Run no audio had to play the rest on Windows10
Works absolutely perfectly regardless of distro. Runs out of the box on everything I've tried.
Can't read the player name in one specific scene in act 3, due to it being tied to Windows. That's the only thing that I noticed. Literally everything else ran beautifully and perfectly.
Can't recommend Steam version. Just download from itchi.io instead for a better experience
./DDLC.sh # %command%
Saves are different if launching from .exe or .sh; may be basic knowledge but thought I'd mention anyway
This game likes to mess around with files and such, but it doesn't seem to fully work through Steam. Trying to avoid spoilers, certain files that are created/deleted do not actually.. get created or deleted. Honestly can't recommend playing on Steam because of this.
Sure, the Linux version is bundled in with Steam but due to (I think) certain permissions or the Steam wrapper, or something.. crucial game aspects do not function. I had no issues with these features from the itch.io version of the game. Might be a problem with my system, since I don't see others talking about the issue, but still, Steam can be a miss on this one. Yeah it sucks hours won't get logged if you're used to that on Steam, but for the game experience to be complete, and functioning, itch.io is the only way to go.
The game is perfectly fine with Proton.
DDLC was written with RenPy visual novel engine which supports GNU/Linux out of the box. Just navigate to the game's directory and launch the .sh file there. I'm not sure why it's not marked as Native in Steam.

works perfectly out of the box!
Couldn't be better!
Worked perfectly out of the box
i mean it is a renpy game, it shouldn't run bad in the first place. works flawlessly
Great experience.

Great game. really recommended. it's free and work's great.
fideling with the files like the game expect is a bit weird if it dosent work just verify the game cache and then reremove the file and relaunch the game should fix it.
This game is free, therapy ain't!
The game runs natively on Linux, but it isn't mentioned on Steam.
Runs and plays like native.
Although DDLC has a bash launch script in the game files, most people won't even notice the difference between native and proton.
The game has a hidden Linux port you can use
To use it, go into Preferences > General > Launch options and add either "./DDLC.sh # %command%", or anything else you might think of to still add the %command% part but never really execute it
